Student answer (Band 4.5)

This bar graph show different things in landon and discussing about their progress in different fields. If we discuss the range of shops are very high and reach about to 45 percent. Then, the range of job opportunities are also very high about to 39 percent. The thing that is not good there is transport .It is just anout to reach20 to 23 percent.

Most of things in landon are goog but there are also cons of this country.Firstly the cost of basic things are very high and the traffic congestion is also very bad there. But if we discuss about the thing that is at very high rate is the crime. It can be say that theft happen a lot there and others crime are also very high.

There are number of problems there but the major problem is air quality and litter .Litter in first year starting from 70 percent to next and air quality is also very bad upto 65 percent.

To conclude that, landon has large number of problem for living bases. We can face a lot of problems there.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify several relevant features, including shops, job opportunities, transport, cost of living, traffic, crime, litter and air quality. However, the report only partially describes the charts: it gives almost no year-by-year comparisons and omits important information such as the mixture of people, museums and galleries, and the changing figures for the problems. Some claims are inaccurate or unsupported: crime is not consistently the highest-rated disadvantage, and the chart’s final panel shows litter as the most widely reported problem, not air quality. The overview is also unclear, ending with a broad claim that London has many problems. To improve, summarise the main patterns across all three panels and support them with accurate comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from positive features to disadvantages and then to problems and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the first paragraph discusses only a few positive features, while the later paragraphs mix chart categories and make broad claims without showing how they relate to the data. Connectors such as “Firstly,” “But,” and “To conclude” are used, but they do not create a clear comparison or sequence of findings. Some references, including “there” and “this country,” are vague. Group the three chart topics clearly, use comparisons to link years, and make the conclusion an overview of the reported trends rather than a general opinion.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “range of shops,” “job opportunities,” “traffic congestion,” “crime,” “air quality,” and “litter,” so the reader can recognise several chart topics. However, the vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and a number of word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “discussing about their progress,” “the cost of basic things,” and “living bases.” Spelling errors such as “landon,” “anout,” and “goog” also make the writing less clear and less appropriate for an academic report. Aim for precise chart language, including terms for proportions and change, and check spelling carefully. Avoid unsupported claims about crime and use neutral descriptions rather than conversational phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the main topic is usually understandable. However, control of sentence structure and basic grammar is inconsistent. For example, “This bar graph show” has subject–verb disagreement, while “If we discuss the range of shops are very high” is an incomplete or incorrectly joined clause. Other problems include “It can be say” and “Litter in first year starting from 70 percent,” where verb forms and sentence construction are faulty. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, particularly around full stops and commas. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use straightforward comparative structures such as “The figure for litter fell from…” before attempting more complex forms.
