What are the best things about living in London?

Student answer (Band 4.5)

Let us understand in detail about the best things about lvng in london is.First of all the people who live in london have so many things to do like they have to look for their transportaion, night life, also there are museums and art gallerie to visit , also job opportunities, range of shops, and the last is mixture of people. Now what they have did they have divided the this categories in 3 different years. If we take a look inyear 1 then the best thing in living in london is to have range of shops, they have so many range of shops to provide to their hommies and this is continued to the next and the next year which is year 2 and year 3. Now for the people who live in london do need to find job opportunities for earning for heir family and for themselves so the job opportunities are having the ratio of 35-40% in all three years, So if we take a look for the job opportunities condition in london then it plays a good role because people have good job opportunities in london. Becuase of the good job opportunities role in london mixture of peoples shows up, obviously if there is a opportunity then there will be large number of mixure of people too in the country or city. so in all three years there is 35%of mixture of people shows up in london. If there is job opportunity and through that there is lot of peoples then there will be things to go around or to visit so london have museumes & art galleries tooo also here ratio is less in year 1 which is around 22% then slowly gets increased till year 3.Also people in london enjoy their night lfe too but the average is still less in all 3 years compare to other categories. Also if people are living there and going around to explore or to work then they do need transportation for all things, so the ratio for the transportaion is very less among all the categories in all three years.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several relevant categories, including shops, jobs, museums, nightlife and transport, and you recognise that the data cover three years. However, the report only partially describes the charts: it focuses almost entirely on the positive features and omits the chart on the worst aspects and the line graph about whether litter, air quality and noise are major problems. Some figures are inaccurate or unclear: mixture of people is about 34–36%, not consistently 35%, and museums and galleries rise from about 29% to 34.5%, rather than from 22%. There is no concise overview of the main patterns. To improve, summarise the key contrasts across all three visuals, then support them with accurate comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response contains relevant information and uses basic sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Now,” and “Also.” However, it is presented as one long paragraph, and the ideas do not progress in a clear report structure. The extended explanation about job opportunities causing a mixture of people and then more places to visit is speculative and interrupts the description of the data. Repeated transitions such as “so” and “if we take a look” make the connections mechanical, while references such as “this” and “they” are not always clear. Organise the report into an introduction, an overview, and focused detail paragraphs, grouping related data and using concise comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “job opportunities,” “range of shops,” and “museums & art galleries,” so the reader can identify several chart categories. However, the range is limited and repetitive, with frequent reliance on “good,” “things,” “ratio,” and “people.” Several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “the best thing in living in London,” “their hommies,” and “the average is still less.” Spelling errors, including “transportaion,” “gallerie,” and “Becuase,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise chart-report language: use “percentage” or “proportion” rather than “ratio,” and verbs such as “rose,” “remained stable,” and “declined” to describe changes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt longer sentences with clauses linked by “because,” “if,” and “so,” but these structures are often faulty or difficult to follow. For example, “Now what they have did they have divided the this categories” has incorrect verb forms and article use, while “the ratio for the transportation is very less” shows problems with sentence construction and agreement. There are also run-on sentences, inconsistent capitalisation of “London,” and punctuation that does not reliably separate ideas. Simple sentences are generally understandable, but errors in the more ambitious sentences sometimes obscure the intended meaning. Build accuracy with shorter, complete sentences first, then practise combining them using correctly formed clauses and consistent past or present tense.
