The bar charts illustrates the survey results of over three year period to know about the thoughts on the life of the residents of London. The survey is measured on three categories.
The first bar chart is on the survey of the best things about living in London in different categories. The percentage fluctuated over the year in each category. According to the chart, the most people think that range of shops is the best things about living in the London while the night life and transportation was in bottom. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response identifies the topic and reports some relevant features, including shops as a leading positive and cost of living, congestion and crime as major negatives in Year 1. However, it addresses the charts only minimally: the third chart on litter, air quality and noise is not discussed, and the report ends mid-sentence while describing housing and transport. Several details are inaccurate or too vague: job opportunities did not fall between Years 2 and 3, and museums and galleries rose to about 35%, not 40%. There is no clear overview of the main patterns across all three charts. To improve, summarise the key overall contrasts first, then select accurate comparisons and trends from each chart.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic sequence, moving from an introduction to the first and then the second bar chart, and phrases such as “According to the chart” help signal the source of information. However, progression is incomplete: the second-chart paragraph stops abruptly, and the line graph is not incorporated, so the report does not reach a conclusion or cover the full visual set. Some links between ideas are unclear, as in “The opposite scene was for the mixture of the people,” which does not specify the comparison. Organise the report into an introduction, a concise overview, and paragraphs grouping the main details from all charts. Use clear comparison links such as “by contrast” and “while” to show how figures relate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
There is enough topic vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “job opportunities,” “traffic congestion,” “cost of housing” and “museums and art galleries.” The response also attempts reporting language such as “fluctuated” and “increased.” However, word choice and collocation are often imprecise or repetitive: “the thoughts on the life,” “the best things,” and “in bottom” are not natural ways to describe survey results. “Transportation” is less consistent with the chart’s label, “transport,” and “catagories” is misspelled. These choices sometimes make the intended comparison harder to follow. Build a more precise range of chart-reporting expressions and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and more complex sentences, for example, “In the first year … but in next two year it dropped and remain stable.” However, errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships difficult to understand. The opening has subject–verb disagreement (“The bar charts illustrates”), while “over three year period” and “in the London” show problems with articles and number. Tense and agreement are also inconsistent in “the night life and transportation was” and “it dropped and remain stable.” The final sentence is incomplete, leaving the relationship between housing and transport unfinished. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and plural agreement, and proofread each sentence for a complete clause and correct articles.
