Student answer (Band 6.5)
A trend of getting higher education has been increased and universities are also offering multiple disciplines which is a beneficial approach towards higher education. I believe that after graduation, these people will not only be able to boost the economy with their skills but also participate to uplift the moral and social values of the society.
Many corporations and industries need more skilled and professional staff to work efficiently. When the number of graduates increase in a society, they join organizations and work day and night to make them successful. Moreover, universities also provide latest courses about technology and data sciences which help enable them to understand the challenges of the contemporary world and prepare them to tackle the problems. Like many graduates are working in renowned companies and are helping them to make progress globally. For instance, after the introduction of space related courses in universities, many space scientists are working in space exploration and discovering new galaxies.
The educated people can also contribute in the development of moral and social values of the society. For instance, the university graduates can better understand the issues such as global warming and land degradation and help them to address these problems to the government through different platforms like social media and news channels. Moreover, these educated persons can influence the government to make laws which are favourable to the public. Furthermore, thry can also become a role models for society by practicing the moral values like sympathy, brotherhood and loyalty. In this way, they can contribute to develop a better community.
In conclusion, the graduates can increase the economical growth by their skills and reshape the society by their moral values. Moreover, the introduction of new courses in universities is aslo a positive development to enhance the productivity of the students in various fields.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt clearly, taking a positive stance on the increase in higher education and course variety. The ideas are relevant, focusing on economic benefits and social/moral development. However, the development is somewhat general. For instance, the example of 'space scientists' is a bit disconnected from the broader point about general university courses. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced examples or explore the potential downsides briefly to demonstrate a more balanced, critical perspective. Overall, the position is consistent and the main ideas are supported.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion' are used effectively to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the economic argument from the social/moral argument, which helps the flow of ideas. The progression is clear throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision, using terms like 'contemporary world', 'land degradation', and 'disciplines'. There are some minor issues with collocation, such as 'uplift the moral and social values' (better: 'uphold' or 'enhance') and 'make progress globally'. While you attempt some less common vocabulary, there is room for more sophisticated, natural-sounding collocations to move into the higher bands. Spelling is generally accurate, and the vocabulary used is appropriate for the academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical slips, such as 'A trend of getting higher education has been increased' (passive voice error; 'has increased' is sufficient) and 'help them to address these problems' (the 'them' is ambiguous here). Punctuation is generally fine, though there are occasional spacing errors after commas. While complex structures are attempted, they are not always perfectly controlled. However, these errors do not impede communication, and the meaning remains clear throughout the essay.
