Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this fast-paced world, an increasing number of students have chosen continue to study in their education after completing school, while universities and colleges have provided a variety of courses. I think that this is a positive development because it provides students educational opportunities, technical skills and a freedom of choose interested courses.
To commence with, the main benefit of this development is that students can get better career opportunities and learn new skills. Higher education allows young people to gain more knowledge and expertised in the particular field. As a result, they can apply for wider range of professional jobs and chances of earning higher income. For example, a student who studies electronics and communication at university can develop programming and technical skills and later work in areas such as hardware developer and semiconductor engineer. Therefore, higher education can help individuals to build successful careers.
Furthermore, the increasing variety university and college courses gives students more freedom to choose subjects according to their interests and abilities. In the past, students may have had fewer options and were often expected to study traditional subjects. Nowadays, institutions offer several courses such as digtal marketing, computer programming, artificial intelligence and digital electronics. This allows students to select appropriate subject which suits their interests and career goals. Consequently, they can become more motivated to study and develop expertise in their chosen area.
To conclude, i believe that this development is positive because if students get proper guidance, they can improve their skills and get educational opportunities as well. Also, different kind of courses gives students more freedom to choose their interested subjects.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a positive position in the introduction and maintaining it throughout. The ideas are relevant and supported with examples, such as the mention of specific fields like electronics and digital marketing. However, the development of ideas is somewhat predictable and could be further extended to reach a higher band. For instance, the discussion on career opportunities is a bit generic. To improve, you should aim to explore the implications of these developments more deeply, perhaps by discussing the societal impact or the potential drawbacks of over-education, even if you ultimately argue it is a positive trend.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'Consequently' are used effectively to guide the reader. However, the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. For example, in the second paragraph, the link between 'variety of courses' and 'motivation' is clear, but the flow could be improved by using more varied linking phrases. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing for clear communication. You have used some topic-specific terms such as 'professional jobs', 'artificial intelligence', and 'digital electronics'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and form, such as 'expertised' (should be 'expertise') and 'freedom of choose' (should be 'freedom to choose'). To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary would also help demonstrate a more sophisticated control of language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include 'have chosen continue to study' (should be 'have chosen to continue studying'), 'wider range of professional jobs' (missing article 'a'), and 'different kind of courses' (should be 'different kinds of courses'). Punctuation is generally correct, but there are minor issues with capitalization, such as 'i' instead of 'I'. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, as these errors occur frequently enough to be noticeable.
