Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the increase in higher education, but the development of ideas is limited. While you state that education is 'crucial,' the arguments regarding the negative impacts are somewhat superficial and lack logical depth. For instance, the claim that students become unhealthy or fall prey to diseases due to the 'race of numbers' is an over-generalisation that is not well-supported by your example of a cousin. To improve, ensure that your arguments are balanced and supported by more analytical reasoning rather than anecdotal evidence. The position is clear, but the overall development of the topic remains basic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'From my perspective' and 'So i woud want to conclude,' but the transitions between sentences are often mechanical or repetitive. For example, the repeated use of 'a student wants to' makes the flow feel stilted. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks logical flow, making it difficult for the reader to follow the development of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and varying sentence structures would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. You frequently use basic terms like 'good job,' 'meaningful way,' and 'very essential.' There are also several spelling errors, such as 'peson,' 'matricullation,' 'copared,' and 'woud,' which indicate a lack of precision. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is not sufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher band scores. To improve, focus on learning collocations and academic synonyms for common words to add variety and precision to your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'A well educated person has the chances of getting good job than non educated person' (missing articles and comparative structure) and 'the first 25 to 30 years of life of student became passed' (awkward phrasing). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces before periods and commas. Frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage are present throughout the text. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering complex sentence forms and ensuring consistent grammatical accuracy.
