Student answer (Band 6.5)

I'm inclined to believe that increasing number of people continuing their education after school and increasing range of courses available at universities and college is a positive development because it provides significant benefits and has a crucial impact on career of people. One of the most important reasons for my opinion is that continuing education after school lead people to get better career opportunities and increasing range of courses help people to choose their interest of studies and help them to find career in their interested field. Not only, continuing their education after school and increasing range of courses available at universities and college helps people to grom in their career but it also helps in their personal growth. I strongly believe that education is the key to success not only in aspects of career and money but eduction is also key to personal growth. An instance from my life that hit to mind is when I went to University of Warwick for my master's abroad. At first this decision haunted me a lot but with the time this decision became one of the most important key to my success. This degree not only helps me to get get a career in my intrested field but it became the reason of my personal growth. That one year of master taught me aspects of life and made me feasible for future challenges. However, the reason I chose this university is their wide range of course which help me to get a degree in my interested field that leads to my success. This experience clearly highlighted the importance of higher education and the importance of wide range of courses in university and college.

Some people argue that studying after school is waste of money and having wide range of course in university is waste of resources; However, I strongly believe that eduction is most important aspect for the success. In Sanskrit it is said that "laxmi follows sarswati" which means that godess laxmi; the symbol of money always follows the godess sarswati the symbol of eduction.

Additionally, I also believe that education of people is directly propostional to the growth of the country because the educated citizen makes significant contribue in the country's growth. This educated people helps country by contributing in tax, infrastucture, startups, technology, innovation and many more aspects. Furthermore, Universities offering wide range of courses develop interest of people towards higher education which helps indirectly in the country's growth.

That's why, I strongly believe that increasing number of people continuing their education after school and increasing range of courses available at universities and college is a positive development.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating that the trend is a positive development. The ideas are relevant, focusing on career advancement, personal growth, and national economic benefits. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding career opportunities is restated multiple times without adding significant depth. While the personal example of the University of Warwick is relevant, the explanation of how the 'wide range of courses' specifically facilitated this success could be more detailed. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting arguments would benefit from more varied evidence to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'One of the most important reasons', 'Additionally', and 'Furthermore', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentences are overly long and convoluted, which occasionally obscures the logical flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the personal experience from the broader societal arguments. Overall, the progression of ideas is coherent, but the essay would benefit from more sophisticated linking phrases to improve the flow between sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'directly proportional' and 'significant contribution'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'grom in their career' (grow), 'hit to mind' (came to mind), and 'made me feasible' (prepared me). Spelling errors, such as 'eduction' (education) and 'propostional' (proportional), occur frequently. While the meaning is rarely impeded, these errors prevent the response from reaching a higher band. A more precise and varied vocabulary would enhance the quality of the argument.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'continuing education... lead people') and article usage (e.g., 'increasing number of people'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and misuse of semicolons. The complexity of the sentences is often undermined by these persistent errors. To improve, the student should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and verb tense consistency. The range of structures is sufficient, but accuracy needs significant improvement.
