Student answer (Band 5.5)

In my perspective , the increase in the range of university courses is a positive impact as this leads to more work opportunities and lead to more development in their feilds.

The variety of range in courses helps the students to choose their career according to their interest.

Personally, i chose Bs dermatology technology as i was interested in dermatological treatments but my score in fsc wasn't enough for me to study mbbs . By having this course i worked on my dream career in my limited career aspects.

Likewise many students struggle to study the main degree because of their scored . The range of courses give them opportunity to build their career in accordance to their interests.

In contrats to th advantages, there are also a negative impact of these range of course, the private institutions have made their business by having range of course , by this those universities give admissions to every non deserving students as well by getting fees . All this scenerio is causing decline in educational quality leading to less job opportunities, also students don't work hard enough to gain more scores as they have known to these courses which can be opt in less scorers too.

In my opinion, these courses have a positive and negative roles but these can be fixed if our education system works on it by making merit system in private universities as well so that students work hard to get admission in private universities too and our educa system can be improved .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both positive and negative aspects of the increase in university courses. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The personal example regarding dermatology is relevant but occupies a significant portion of the text, which detracts from a more balanced, academic exploration of the topic. The conclusion attempts to offer a solution, but the overall argument lacks depth and sophistication. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the societal or economic implications of these trends rather than focusing primarily on personal anecdotes or general observations about private institutions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, such as 'In contrats to th advantages' and 'Likewise'. The transition between the positive and negative aspects is abrupt. While there is a logical flow, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive sentence structures make the text feel somewhat disjointed. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'non deserving students' and 'scenerio'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'feilds', 'contrats', and 'scenerio'. The vocabulary is often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'good' or 'bad' (implied) and 'range of courses'. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the English language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'these courses have a positive and negative roles'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors. The sentence structure is often repetitive, and the control over complex sentences is inconsistent. For example, 'By having this course i worked on my dream career' is grammatically awkward. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect pluralization.
