Student answer (Band 6.0)
In some countries, various courses are now offered at universities and colleges and the number of people continuing their education after school has also been escalating, which is a positive development since it benefits the students and the community.
Nowadays, more people choose to continue studying after obtaining a degree because they want to pursue their career by taking advanced special classes or graduate school courses. Therefore, it is a positive outcome since it takes discipline and courage to study again for a long period of time. In addition, universities and colleges are now offering different types of programs, which is an advantage to students. This attracts students to enroll on the right course, moreover, it opens an opportunity to various departments.
It is a positive outcome because it has more advantages to students exploring different programs that is suited for them, unlike in the past, there are limited programs offered for students to study. The increasing number of people pursuing advanced education can benefit the community in a way to escalate the number of professionals to work in a country and help the people. For instance, lack of doctors in a country is very common, the increase of students in medical schools will result to larger number of doctors in the future, which can help in the healthcare system of a country. As a result, students having the ability to learn various programs and continuing advanced education leads to a successful community of professionals.
In conclusion, both views result to a positive development since it is not for personal gain only but also to the community.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating that the increase in higher education is a positive development. You provide relevant arguments, such as the benefit to the community and the increase in professional expertise. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the second and third paragraphs both focus on the benefits to the community and the variety of courses. To reach a higher band, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating the same concept. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Therefore', and 'For instance' to link your thoughts. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final sentence of the second paragraph where 'it opens an opportunity to various departments' is vague. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that each cohesive device serves to strengthen the logical connection between ideas will help improve your score in this area.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'escalating', 'pursue their career', and 'healthcare system'. However, there are some instances of imprecise word choice and collocation issues, such as 'enroll on the right course' (should be 'enroll in') and 'result to larger number' (should be 'result in'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'programs that is suited' (should be 'are suited'), 'result to' (should be 'result in'), and 'unlike in the past, there are limited programs' (which is a comma splice). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of complex sentence structures to ensure they are error-free.
