Nowadays, more people are choosing to continue their education after completing school, and colleges and universities are offering a range of courses. I believe that this is a positive development because it improves people's career opportunities and gives students more choices.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 133 words long. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you have identified the task as a positive development and provided two main points—career opportunities and course variety—these points are underdeveloped. The arguments lack depth, specific examples, or a concluding summary. To achieve a higher band, you must expand your arguments with more detailed explanations, counter-arguments, or broader societal implications to meet the length requirement and demonstrate a more thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into short paragraphs with basic linking words like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly'. However, the progression of ideas is limited by the brevity of the text. Cohesive devices are used in a somewhat mechanical way, and the lack of a concluding paragraph makes the overall structure feel incomplete. To improve, ensure that each paragraph contains a clear topic sentence followed by supporting evidence and a concluding thought, and use a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect your ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'learn more knowledge' and 'find a job'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'many range of the courses'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and precise collocations. For example, instead of 'learn more knowledge', use 'acquire specialized expertise' or 'enhance professional competencies'. Expanding your vocabulary will help you express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. For instance, 'they may have more job opportunities' lacks a proper transition from the previous sentence, and 'There are many range of the courses are available' is grammatically incorrect. Additionally, there are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'colleges and university does not have'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for punctuation errors. Increasing your use of varied, error-free complex sentences will significantly improve your score.
