Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state that the trend is positive, the arguments provided are underdeveloped and repetitive. For example, the mention of 'internet' and 'my uncle' lacks sufficient depth or logical connection to the broader societal implications of increased higher education. The conclusion is also confusing, as you write 'It gives positive drawbacks,' which is a contradictory phrase. To improve, you must expand on your points with clear explanations and relevant examples to reach the required length and provide a more comprehensive analysis of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the transitions between ideas are mechanical and often confusing. For instance, the phrase 'While on the other hand the second one view is that' is grammatically awkward and does not effectively introduce a new point. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often misused, making the flow of the argument difficult to follow. To improve, focus on using linking words such as 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' or 'in contrast' to connect your sentences and paragraphs more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms. There are several instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'persuade their after school' (likely meant 'pursue their studies') and 'speed up' to describe the growth of courses. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of academic vocabulary and ensure that words are used in the correct context. Focus on learning collocations related to education, such as 'academic qualifications' or 'vocational training'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'range of courses... has increase' and 'people runs different institute.' Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty or incomplete. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions. Reviewing your work for these basic errors before finishing will help improve your accuracy.
