Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's world a lot of people have understand the importance of studying at high levels and many of the students have been continuing their studies after their high schools.

In my view this is absolutely a positive development that many people these days are studying more in order to to make a good career. I believe that studying till just high school isn't enough for a better tomorrow and it is really crucial for us to study more so our future gets secure. so this is really a positive development that many people these days are continuing their study after school while their are many good advantages to have a better life.

If we talk about the benefits of studying at a higher level, so this also makes our country's record better than before and we could be able to have a successful job offers and more. As the range of the courses available at the universities have been increased so that's a great opportunity for us to have a chance to get education where ever we want to. Because most of the universities provided limited number of courses before which was not enough for more people to get admission their.

In the end I would love to mention that it's a wonderful decision of people to continue their studies after high school because this results in the achievement of success always and those who have stopped their studies should continue in order to have better tomorrow and always be happy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position that the increase in higher education is a positive development. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention benefits such as career prospects and national progress, these points are presented in a repetitive and somewhat superficial manner. The arguments lack specific examples or detailed explanations, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with concrete examples or logical consequences, ensuring that each paragraph provides a deeper analysis of the topic rather than simply restating the main idea.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the flow between ideas is often mechanical. You rely on basic transitions like 'In my view' and 'In the end', and some sentences feel disconnected due to awkward phrasing. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes repetitive. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your sentences and paragraphs more fluidly. Ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a more cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'good career', 'better tomorrow', and 'successful job offers' are common and lack the precision expected at higher levels. There are also some minor word-choice errors, such as 'studying at high levels' instead of 'higher education' and 'get admission their' instead of 'there'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to education and professional development, while paying closer attention to spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'a lot of people have understand' (should be 'have understood'), 'while their are many' (should be 'there are'), and 'range of the courses... have been increased' (should be 'has increased'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions. Reviewing basic sentence construction will help reduce the frequency of these errors.
