Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, an increasing number of students have choosen to continue higher education after completing school. At the same time, universities and colleges provied variety of courses for students to choose from for their career development. In my opinion, this is largely a positive development as it provides a wider perspective for the younger generation to build their career as well as allows them to pursue in the field of their interests and i will further elucidate this view in the following paragraphs.
One major advantage of higher education is that people can pursue what they want to become and achieve in the future by completing school and getting higher education. As in many professions, people need to have specialised skills and knowledge which alone cannot be achieved from school studies. They need to take special training and practical knowledge from colleges and university which provides the efficient knowledge and a degree which symbolises the speciality of learning achieved by the student. For instance, a homeopathy doctor needs to complete his theoretical knowledge and practical training of treating patients for 5 years from university or college before getting a professional job.
Another positive impact includes the variety of career opportunites people get nowadays. In the past, people had to choose only from three sectors available which were science, arts and commerce but in present the universities provides multiple options to choose such as artificial intelligence, robotics, cloud computing, digital marketing and many more. So this gives a freedom of choice to the students to choose wisely according to their preference. For example, new course varieties given from educational institutes helps the student to work in an environment of their interest which allows them to boost not only their career but also helps to improve the economy of their country.
In conclusion, i strongly believe that the impacts of people pursuing further studies and educational institues adding more options will positively impact on the life of younger generations and their country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing the trend of increased higher education and course availability, and clearly states a position that this is a positive development. Main ideas are presented and supported with explanations, such as the need for specialized training for professions like a homeopathy doctor and the introduction of modern career options like artificial intelligence and robotics. However, some ideas tend to be slightly repetitive, and the development could be pushed further with more depth to reach higher band levels. Nevertheless, the position is clear throughout and the main aspects of the prompt are well-covered, aligning with the Band 7 descriptor.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a clear overall progression and logical organization. Each paragraph has a distinct focus, starting with an introduction that outlines the writer's stance, followed by body paragraphs dedicated to specific advantages, and concluding with a summary. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as 'One major advantage', 'Another positive impact includes', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion can sometimes feel a bit mechanical or repetitive in structure. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but overall the flow can be enhanced for better logical linking, placing this response firmly in the Band 6 or 7 range.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'specialised skills', 'elucidate', 'theoretical knowledge', and 'digital marketing'. However, there are notable word choice and spelling inaccuracies, such as 'choosen' instead of chosen, 'provied' instead of provided, and 'opportunites'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from achieving a higher lexical band. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, but lacks the precision and control required for Band 7.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an ability to construct multi-clause sentences like 'As in many professions, people need to have specialised skills and knowledge which alone cannot be achieved from school studies.' However, there are several grammatical errors and punctuation issues throughout the text, including lowercase 'i' pronouns, run-on sentences with conjunction overuse, and subject-verb agreement slips. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to restrict the score to Band 6.
