Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt by discussing whether the increase in further education and university courses is a positive or negative development, leaning towards it being positive. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes unclear due to expression issues. For instance, the writer mentions that individuals having a fondness for studies leads to the expansion of departments and specialized professions like 'doctors, medicine, phycologists, engerieers and lawyers', but these points are underdeveloped and lack strong supporting examples. The position is stated but remains somewhat simplistic throughout the essay. The task is addressed partially, corresponding to a Band 5 descriptor.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, featuring a distinct introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is disjointed, and the relationships between ideas are often unclear. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively, such as 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'In the conclusion, i discussed the both view'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal paragraph cohesion is weak, with sentences frequently lacking smooth logical transitions. Referencing is also imprecise at times, making it difficult to follow the flow of argument consistently. This aligns with Band 5 performance.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'artificial intelligence', 'political science', and 'specialized', but these are offset by frequent word choice errors and incorrect collocations, such as 'has make a incline jumb', 'having fond of studies', 'great knowlegde', and 'high revenue from the fee'. Spelling errors are also present, including 'subjetcs', 'phycologists', 'engerieers', 'institues', 'bussiness', and 'prespctive'. These vocabulary limitations and frequent inaccuracies sometimes cause strain for the reader, placing the response firmly at Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in basic sentence construction, verb tenses, and agreements, such as 'the number of individuals carry on', 'many subjetcs that teach', 'this is the positive impact', and 'students allow to chose'. Punctuation and capitalization are also erratic, with lowercase letters used for pronouns like 'i' and mismanaged commas. Because complex structures are frequently faulty and errors are persistent throughout the text, the response meets the criteria for Band 4.5, which is rounded to 5.0.
