Student answer (Band 5.5)

Awareness about importance of education have made many of students to continue thier studies after high school . As the number of students coming forward to continue their studies after school has increased so this made many universities to intoduce many new programs or courses.

I would obviously say that this is significantly positive development .During the ninteeth century formal way of study was adopted by many of countries like development of schools and colleges . At that time not much people tends to study further after their high school there might be any domestic issue , financial issue or lack of knowledge . But every person can have access to any kind of knowledge through internet .

As more number of students will turn to study further after thier high school , the more number of students will go to universities so greator number of professionals will be obtained . Those professionals of all specific field will ultimatey serve to society . Resultantly , the society will be prosperous .

A carpenter's job actually need a skill rather than any degree . He can easily work anywhere if he knows the skill really well . But in past there were not much institutes that teachs carpentry , so to sove this problem many universities and colleges have introduced new diploma programs like carpentry . So this have led to an idea that if you dont want to study detailed theory you can just do these diplomas that can eventually land you a job . This also encouraged many low grade students to study further after their high school .

Conclusively , I would say this is really positve development that would make our community a developed and setteled community .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position that the increase in post-school education and course availability is a positive development. Ideas are extended with reasoning, such as the creation of professionals who ultimately serve society and the introduction of practical diploma programs like carpentry. However, some arguments tend to over-generalise, and explanations can be somewhat repetitive or lack deeper elaboration. For instance, the paragraph regarding carpentry attempts to provide a relevant example but contains slightly confused logic regarding how universities teach practical trade skills. Overall, all parts of the task are addressed, earning a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised, though paragraph breaks and internal structures can be somewhat disjointed. Cohesive devices are attempted using words like 'Resultantly', 'Conclusively', and 'As more number of students', but referencing is occasionally faulty or mechanical. For instance, 'so this made many universities' and 'so to sove this problem' reveal awkward transitions and a reliance on informal connectors. Progression is sometimes hindered by these repetitive cohesive patterns and clunky linking phrases, placing this criterion at a solid Band 5.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The lexical range is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their thoughts on higher education and vocational diplomas. There are numerous attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'significantly positive development', 'professionals', and 'prosperous'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('thier', 'intoduce', 'ninteeth', 'tends', 'greator', 'ultimatey', 'sove', 'positve', 'setteled') and word choice inaccuracies ('formal way of study', 'not much people'). These lexical slips and spelling errors occasionally draw attention, but they do not impede overall communication, justifying a Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional structures and relative clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is weak due to frequent errors, particularly in subject-verb agreement ('Awareness about importance of education have made', 'a carpenter's job actually need', 'institutes that teachs') and article usage ('not much people'). Punctuation also suffers from inconsistent spacing before commas and periods. While communication is not entirely impeded and complex structures are attempted, the frequency of basic errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band, making a Band 5.0 appropriate here.
