Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many countries these days, the number of people continuing their education after school has icreased, and range of courses also.I think its is very positive sign because world also required the educated persons and people also want to become successfull.Education is a main factor in success.Today the technology is continously going up and most of the jobs handled by the Artifical intelligence for example,

Graphic designer was the main and highly payable job due to people required the professional designs for their bussinuses. But nowdays it is useless beacuse of AI its make the beautifull logo in just second and according to the requirment without any cost. The students of this time understand they have to study advance courses and latest knowledge to earn in the future and to be a independent man or women.I want to show the personal experience. When i was completed my matric i had 3 months free time and i was started the course of website making i learn that skill in foure months after those course i made the account on upwork to earn something and also earn many dollars but after sometime when ai comes people start making their websites by own with the help of Ai

secondly,The staff into different places like Resturants and super markets is continously removing and the advance machines is started to installing for bill payment and for others so those staff goes jobless.Thats why people have to study mostly student in the past left the study after matric to help their parents but now most of people in abroad are also jobless due to advancement. So,If i some up the people of this age is openminded and they have not any second option for future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the increase in post-school education and course variety is a positive development. The student attempts to support this viewpoint with arguments related to technological advancement, artificial intelligence, and personal experience. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat disjointed. While the student mentions that AI is replacing traditional jobs such as graphic design and web development, the connection to why this makes continuous education positive is only partially articulated. The personal anecdote is somewhat relevant, yet it suffers from a lack of clear focus and integration into the main argument. Overall, the ideas are present but under-developed, aligning with the requirements for a Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text suffers from significant organizational issues that impede smooth reading. Paragraphing is poorly handled, with the entire response essentially functioning as one massive block of text, or with arbitrary line breaks that do not correspond to logical shifts in thought. Cohesive devices are used minimally and repetitively, with words like 'secondly' and 'so' acting as mechanical connectors rather than fluid transitions. Furthermore, referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult to track pronouns and subjects across sentences. While there is a basic arrangement of ideas moving from an introduction to arguments and a brief conclusion, the lack of effective paragraphing and logical progression keeps this criterion at a Band 4.5 level, rounded to 5.0 for overall comprehensibility.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical resource displayed is basic and repetitive, reflecting a limited vocabulary. Words such as 'successfull', 'beautifull', and 'requirment' highlight frequent spelling errors throughout the text. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'Artificial intelligence' and 'independent', but inaccurate word choices and collocations—such as 'highly payable job' instead of 'well-paid job' or 'made the account' instead of 'created an account'—cause noticeable strain for the reader. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic topic of education and technology, the frequency of lexical errors and restricted range place this firmly in the Band 5 category.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions or comma splices (e.g., 'In many countries these days, the number of people continuing their education after school has icreased, and range of courses also.'). There are frequent grammatical errors, including tense inconsistencies, missing articles, and incorrect prepositions (e.g., 'staff into different places', 'machines is started to installing'). Complex structures are attempted, but they are almost always faulty and lack proper punctuation. These persistent errors cause regular difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from achieving a higher band score.
