Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, more and more people are choosing to continure their education after finishing school, and universitu and colleges are offering a wider ranges of courses. I believe this is a positive development because it provide students with more career opportunities and helps them develop knowledge and skills.
Initially, one major advantages of continuing education is that students can gain specialised knowledage and better career opportunities. University courses allow young people to study subjects that match their interests and future goals. for example a student, who is interested in technologu can study computer science, data science or artifical intelligence and develop practical skills for the modern and high salaries job for them. As technology is changing rapidly, having higher qulifications can also help poeple find suitable jobs and improve their income. Therefore, the incrasing number of students in higher education can contribute to both personal life goals.
Furthermore, another positive effets is that the wide ranges of courses gives students greater freedom to choose wat tthey want to study. In the past, students had the fewer options to select course, but today they can choose from subjects such as business, digital marketing, environmental science, psychology and many other specialised fields. For instance, a student who does not enjoy traditional subjects can choose a course related to design or digital media. This variety can make education more interesting and help students prepare for different types of careers.
In conclusion, I think this is a positive development because students have more choices, can learn new skills, and can get better job opportunities in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout. The writer explicitly states a viewpoint in the introduction ("I believe this is a positive development") and maintains it by outlining specific advantages such as career opportunities, knowledge development, and a wide range of choices. Main ideas are supported with explanations and examples, such as mentioning specific fields like computer science, digital marketing, and design. However, some ideas could be extended further to reach the higher band thresholds. The development is generally relevant and direct, fulfilling the basic requirements of Task Response for an IELTS Band 6.5 to 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a clear overall progression of ideas, moving from general career benefits to specific course variety. Cohesive devices such as "Initially", "Furthermore", and "In conclusion" are used to structure the text, although some referencing and linkers are slightly mechanical or faulty, as seen in phrases like "Furthermore, another positive effets". Paragraphing is handled appropriately, ensuring that each main idea is separated logically. Overall, the coherence and cohesion reflect a Band 6.0 standard.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student attempts to use a range of vocabulary suitable for the topic, incorporating words and phrases such as "specialised knowledage", "artificial intelligence", "environmental science", and "digital media". However, there are numerous spelling and word-form errors throughout the text, including "continure", "universitu", "ranges", "knowledage", "technologu", "artifical", "qulifications", "poeple", "incrasing", "effets", and "tthey". These lexical and spelling inaccuracies occasionally detract from the reading experience, placing the lexical resource at a Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional-like structures (e.g., "a student, who is interested in technologu can study..."). There are, however, frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding article use, pluralization, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., "it provide students", "one major advantages", "had the fewer options"). Punctuation and comma splices also occur. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the grammar score from rising above Band 5.5.
