Student answer (Band 4.0)
Yes its right in many countries these days, the number of people continuing their education after school has increased, and the range of courses available at universities and colleges has also increased.
I think its positive development. It is good and useful for our new students who are now starting there study. The future is going to be modren. If we not improve our education system or courses available at universities, colleges and school we shoulg not go on with the world. So I think it is very good to improve our courses in school universities and colleges. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response takes a clear position by stating that the development is positive, but the execution is severely compromised by extensive, literal repetition of the exact same paragraphs. The writer addresses the prompt at a surface level, noting that education is increasing and courses are expanding, but the ideas are repetitive and underdeveloped. There is no real extension of ideas, examples, or relevant experience beyond brief assertions about the modern future and global competition. Because the core content is duplicated verbatim three times, the actual range of unique ideas presented is extremely narrow, pulling the score down to Band 4.0 according to the descriptors for minimal task response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The overall organisation of the essay is heavily flawed due to the copying and pasting of entire blocks of text. The same paragraph is repeated three consecutive times, creating a circular and disjointed reading experience. While basic cohesive devices such as 'If' and 'So' are used, the lack of varied paragraph progression and the glaring duplication mean that information is not arranged coherently across the text as a whole. Paragraphing is misused because identical paragraphs are simply stacked together rather than developing a logical line of argument. This performance aligns with Band 4.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, such as 'good', 'useful', 'future', and 'world'. The student attempts a few less common words like 'modren' (spelling error for modern) and 'improve', but these are repeated identically throughout the text. Spelling errors ('modren', 'shoulg', 'there' instead of 'their') and poor word choice ('starting there study') are noticeable and occur frequently due to the duplication. The range is limited and minimally adequate at best, fitting the Band 4.0 criteria where vocabulary is basic, repetitive, and occasionally strains the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The essay displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying on simple sentences and basic conditional forms such as 'If we not improve our education system...'. Grammatical errors are frequent, including missing auxiliary verbs ('If we not improve'), incorrect spelling of modal verbs ('shoulg'), and punctuation issues. Because the text is repeated verbatim, these exact grammatical errors are multiplied three times over. The structures are frequently faulty and cause difficulty for the reader, placing the response firmly at Band 4.0.
