Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position that the increase in further education and course availability is a positive development. The writer provides relevant ideas to support this stance, such as improved career prospects, vocational training opportunities, and accessibility for women with busy schedules. However, some ideas remain under-developed and lack specific, concrete examples. For instance, the mention of psychology-related courses for women is a good concept, but it is not fully explained with a detailed scenario. Additionally, there are generalisations that lack depth. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fitting the criteria for Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance stated in the introduction and a concluding summary. Paragraphing is attempted, though some paragraphs lack internal cohesion and smooth transitions. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or misused, as seen in the abrupt transitions at the beginning of sentences (e.g., 'So, the different courses...', 'additionally, vocational Training...'). Pronoun referencing and logical progression occasionally falter, making the reader work harder to follow the connections between ideas. These features align the response closely with Band 5.5, rounding to a Band 6.0 for overall logical structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'accessibility', 'competence', and 'productivity'. However, there are numerous word choice, collocation, and word formation errors throughout the text, such as 'indivual' instead of individual, 'facilitate with' instead of provided with, and 'economic' instead of economy. Furthermore, capitalization and spelling mistakes are frequent (e.g., 'fFor instance', 'contuining', 'overoll', 'raisen'). These inaccuracies restrict the lexical score, but the vocabulary remains minimally adequate to convey the intended meaning, placing it at a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in verb tense, article usage, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'increased availability led increase accesibility', 'the people was struggling', and 'women who are taking care their children'. Punctuation is also problematic, including run-on sentences and missing capitalization at the beginning of sentences. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur with high frequency and prevent the text from achieving a higher band, firmly positioning the grammar at a Band 5.0.
