Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the increase in people pursuing further education and the wider range of courses available, presenting a clear position that this is a positive development. Ideas are introduced regarding literacy rates, the economy, technological advancements, and practical skill courses. However, the development of these ideas is rather basic and repetitive, leaning heavily on general assertions rather than fully elaborated examples. For instance, the mention of AI courses in Pakistan and electricians is relevant but remains underdeveloped. According to the Band 5 and 6 descriptors, the task is addressed, but the ideas require greater extension and depth to reach higher bands. Therefore, a Band 5.5 is appropriate for Task Achievement due to the limited development of key arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text demonstrates an attempt at logical organisation, moving from an introduction to general benefits, specific course examples, and a conclusion. However, the overall coherence is severely hindered by a lack of proper punctuation, run-on sentences, and missing capitalisation (e.g., beginning sentences with lowercase letters like 'in nowadays' and 'so i think'). Paragraphing is poorly executed, with the body paragraphs merging into lengthy, unstructured blocks of text. Cohesive devices are minimal, mechanical, or repetitive ('furthermore', 'for instance', 'on the other hand'). While there is a recognisable overarching structure, the mechanical execution and absence of clear sentence boundaries align the response closely with the Band 5 descriptors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for communicating basic ideas, featuring terms such as 'literacy rate', 'economy', 'technological', and 'fascinating'. However, there are numerous spelling errors ('eduction', 'devolpment', 'individauls', 'thier', 'electriton') and odd word choices ('jobs on good ranks'). The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, but frequent inaccuracies in spelling and word formation restrict the lexical range. Because the errors in spelling and collocation occasionally cause the reader to pause, the response fits the Band 5 criteria, where the vocabulary is minimally adequate but marred by noticeable errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Grammatically, the response relies heavily on simple and compound clauses strung together with coordinating conjunctions or run-on punctuation, such as '...so its beneficial for students to learn about these things for example AI course is the latest in pakistan that they introduced...'. Complex structures are attempted with relative clauses ('that they introduced', 'that can aslo helps'), but they are frequently marred by agreement errors, missing auxiliary verbs, and incorrect verb forms. Punctuation is largely neglected, with comma splices and missing periods creating a barrage of run-on sentences. Frequent grammatical errors and poor punctuation control position this response firmly at Band 5.0.
