Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

Your response responds to the task only minimally. While you do state your view that the increase in higher education is a positive decision, your ideas are extremely limited, under-developed, and left unsupported by relevant examples or experience. For instance, you mention that education helps build character and prevents crimes like 'murdered' and 'snatching', but these points are stated without clear elaboration or logical connection to the specific aspects of the prompt. Furthermore, your essay falls critically short of the minimum length requirement, containing only 143 words instead of the required 250. To improve, you must fully address all parts of the prompt, expand your ideas with well-reasoned explanations and concrete examples, and ensure you meet the minimum word count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently throughout the response. The text is divided into three brief paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is difficult to follow. There is a lack of logical links between sentences, making the overall arrangement disjointed. For example, the transition between discussing crime in the second paragraph and government roles in the third paragraph is abrupt and confusing. Cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or used inaccurately, which disrupts the flow of reading. To move to a higher band, you need to organise your ideas into a clear, logical sequence with appropriate paragraphing, using a range of cohesive devices smoothly to connect your thoughts and ensure clear referencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for expressing basic thoughts, but noticeable errors cause difficulty for the reader. You use basic terms alongside attempts at less common vocabulary, but these often involve word form, choice, or spelling errors that strain comprehension. Examples include 'crucials' instead of 'crucial', 'Huge numbers' with unnecessary capitalization, and incorrect collocations like 'taking a part for their country developments'. Additionally, words such as 'murdered' are used in the wrong grammatical form for the context (murder). To achieve a higher score, you should build a broader range of vocabulary, use less common lexical items accurately with attention to collocation and word formation, and check your spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple and attempted complex structures that contain frequent errors. There are frequent issues with verb forms, tense consistency, and article usage, such as 'The education is a only way' and 'Seeing the Huge numbers of students are giving priority'. You also struggle with subject-verb agreement and prepositional patterns, as seen in 'universities and college are helping them to offer different field'. These frequent errors strain the reader and sometimes distort your intended meaning. To improve your grammar score, you should focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement, using articles and plurals accurately, and exercising greater control over your punctuation and verb tenses.
