Student answer (Band 5.0)
there is a ongoing discussion in many countries about the number of individuals are continuing their educations after the schools has increased, and the range of courses available at universities and colleges has also increased.this impacts the nation both positively and negatively also.
first, talk about the positive impacts of increasing number of courses in college and universities and individuals continuing their studies after school has also increased because the students are aiming for higher post job opportunities. the are studying more in order to increase their literacy rate and to increase theri knowledge level. the individuals are doing phd & masters in the course which they had chosen after 12th to improve their skills and knowledge in that particular course. for eg: if a person had studied 12th in medical stream he will going to pursue medical course in order to increase his/her mastery in that course which will help them to increase
in that course and increase their mastery in that which will help them to become a best doctor.
now, there are many negative impacts or negative development of it. if a person doesn't come from a strong financial backgroogund and he wants a study a course according to individuals ambition but if it is expensive he might not able to study that. if individuals are going to study all their course theoratically and they didn't get practical knowledge it might become their weak point, because always book knowledge is not cpmpulsory sometimes the practical knowledge becomes more important. for eg: if a person wants to become a pilot he got every knowledge theoratically about every function how will he able to fly it if he doesn't get practical knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt partially, discussing both the positive and negative aspects of the increasing trend in higher education. Note that 15 words copied directly from the task prompt were excluded from the official word count, though the response successfully reaches the minimum length requirement overall. The student's position is presented, but ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the paragraph addressing benefits mentions students aiming for higher-paying jobs and pursuing master's or PhD degrees, but these points are repeated rather than expanded with deep insights or concrete real-world evidence. Similarly, the negative points regarding financial backgrounds and the balance between theoretical and practical knowledge are introduced but lack detailed elaboration and clear examples, remaining somewhat generalized.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some organization with a discernible introduction and body paragraphs tackling opposing views, but it lacks a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, but the main body is split into dense blocks of text that mix multiple ideas without smooth transitions. Cohesive devices are used minimally and sometimes inaccurately, such as starting paragraphs with basic conversational transitions like 'first, talk about' or 'now, there are many negative impacts'. Furthermore, referencing and pronoun use are occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to track the flow of arguments smoothly from one sentence to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The student relies on basic, repetitive phrasing throughout the response, such as 'increase their literacy rate', 'increase their knowledge level', and 'increase their mastery'. There are noticeable lexical errors, including spelling mistakes like 'theri' for their and 'backgroogund' for background, alongside awkward word choices such as 'cpmpulsory' and 'theoratically'. While the meaning can generally be understood, these inaccuracies and the lack of less common lexical items restrict the precision and fluency of the expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical range is quite limited, consisting mostly of repetitive sentence structures. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to run-on sentences and structural errors. Examples include 'there is a ongoing discussion', 'the number of individuals are continuing', and 'he will going to pursue'. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions inside grammatical patterns, such as 'wants a study a course' and 'he got every knowledge'. Punctuation is also weak, with missing capital letters at the beginning of sentences and missing spaces after periods, which causes some difficulty for the reader.
