IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In many countries these days, the number of people continuing their education after school has increased, and the range of courses available at universities and colleges has also increased.
Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Continuity of education after graduating from school is the most satisfying that happen to any countries people. Education leads to betterment of people overall grooming which can further make government level people have educated people, help them making policies, following of the rules will be easy as educated people do follow rules with no grudges at all.
Its obvious to have an increase in courses because of continuing of education after school. The more courses would be offered, the more people would get fascinated as they would get a variety of courses in which they can get enroll. Such variety of courses is necessary as ever individual has its own built in likeness and diss likeness. I've scene this grow as people now study Artificial intelligence as a full 4 years Bachelors degree as AI has been evolved super fast. Moreover, courses like VFX which is equals to visuas and effects were first just taught as a diploma or crash courses but now a days, such courses have been endorsed to be a full time 3 to 4 years proper Degree which again I think is the best thing could happen.
Enrollment of such courses have made students to think even more broader to get into the picture, select what actually they like and start learning that in a proper professional way. Getting a degree in such great courses would give confidence to students to fulfill their dreams. Even the research pattern has been stretched to have and attract students who like to go for research type degree programs. In AI as well, many top notch companies hire AI researchers, applied ai engineers separately as everything has been algined properly.
In my opinion, this initiative of adding more courses and people continuing education more would help many organization to get more bigger in their own way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is positive and remains broadly consistent: you argue that further study and a wider choice of courses benefit individuals and organisations. The examples of AI degrees and VFX courses make the discussion relevant, and you mention confidence, career opportunities and research. However, the response addresses the question only partially because several claims are asserted rather than explained. For instance, the opening claim that education helps governments make policies and encourages rule-following is not clearly connected to the growth in post-school study. The final point about organisations becoming “more bigger” is also left undeveloped. To strengthen the response, explain how course choice benefits learners and society, and support each main reason with a clear chain of reasoning or a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for general benefits, course variety, and the effects on students and employers. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “In my opinion” help signal additions and your position. However, the overall progression is not always clear: the first paragraph introduces government policy and rule-following, but the later paragraphs focus on course choice and employment without linking these ideas. Some sentences also contain several points at once, making relationships difficult to follow, particularly the long sentence about AI researchers and applied AI engineers. The conclusion is brief and introduces an organisational benefit without developing it. Give each paragraph one central purpose, use clearer links between claims and examples, and make the conclusion summarise the reasons already discussed.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “research pattern,” “degree programs,” “AI researchers,” and “applied AI engineers,” and the examples show an effort to discuss current fields of study. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “courses,” “people,” and “students,” while several inaccurate or informal expressions make meaning less clear. Examples include “the most satisfying,” “get fascinated,” “built in likeness,” and “top notch companies.” There are also spelling errors, such as “visuas,” “algined,” and “diss likeness.” Choose more precise academic collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe students as being “attracted to a wider range of programmes” and refer to “individual interests” rather than “built in likeness.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional-style explanation of how education may help governments and a sentence beginning “The more courses would be offered…”. However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and frequent errors affect clarity. For example, “Continuity of education … is the most satisfying that happen” has problems with the verb form and sentence construction; “every individual has its own” has agreement and pronoun issues; and “Enrollment of such courses have made” has subject–verb agreement problems. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “as a full 4 years Bachelors degree.” Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammatical relationships are clear.
