Student answer (Band 6.5)
In some nations these days, the number of people continuing their education after school has increased, and the range of courses available at universities and colleges has also increased. In my opinion, this method can be considered a positive development because it allows students with a wide variety of courses and encourages them to gain in-depth knowledge of a particular field.
One major advantage of people continuing their education after school is that it helps them to gain detailed understanding of a particular field. This is because schools provide overall knowledge, while colleges give in-depth understanding of a particular field which helps students to secure a better career. Moreover, the range of courses available at universities provide students a wide variety of options. If a university gives a large number of courses, it helps a student to pursue career of their interest. Thus, varieties of courses help them to choose a career of their interest.
Additionally, this belief encourages students to develop innovative solutions. If students study in colleges, they are more likely to gain understanding of a field of their interest which can inspire them to do more research in the field. This can even lead to a innovative solution. Furthermore, this method helps a country to boost the R&D sector. If more people pursue a degree after school, the more professionals are available to serve their country. For example, engineers, doctors, scientists, and so on, can contribute and do researches, which helps to boost the R&D sector of the country.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that this method is a positive development because it helps students to gain detailed understanding of a particular field and provide them with a wide range of options. In addition, this view helps to boost the R&D sector of a country and encourages students to develop innovative solutions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear throughout: you consider the growth in further education and course choice positive. You address both developments by discussing specialist knowledge, career options, research, and national expertise, and you support these points with examples such as engineers, doctors, and scientists. This meets the task well. However, some claims are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the link between studying after school and “innovative solutions” would be stronger with a specific example or a clearer explanation of how research produces innovation. The point about course variety also repeats the idea of choosing a career of interest. Develop each main reason more distinctly and avoid broad claims such as saying this automatically boosts a country’s R&D sector.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion that restates your position. Ideas generally progress from specialist knowledge and course choice to innovation and national research capacity. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Additionally,” and “Furthermore” help signal these steps. However, cohesion can feel mechanical because several sentences follow the same conditional pattern beginning with “If,” and the repeated references to “this method” and “this belief” are not always precise. The career-choice point is also repeated in the first body paragraph and conclusion. To improve progression, use clearer references to the specific development being discussed and connect each paragraph’s ideas without relying so heavily on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “in-depth understanding,” “pursue,” “innovative solutions,” and “R&D sector.” These choices make your main ideas clear, and errors generally do not prevent understanding. However, some wording is repetitive or imprecise: “a particular field” and “career of their interest” recur, while “this method” does not clearly identify whether you mean further study or the wider range of courses. There are also collocation and word-form problems, such as “do researches” and “provide students a wide variety.” Aim for more natural academic phrasing and vary repeated terms. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish the benefits of advanced study from those of course choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses with “because,” “while,” and “if,” and your meaning remains clear. Some sentences are accurate and well controlled, such as “This can even lead to a innovative solution” in structure, though it contains an article error. Other errors include “the range of courses … provide,” where the singular subject requires a singular verb, and “it allows students with a wide variety of courses,” where the sentence pattern is incomplete. In “the more professionals are available,” the comparative construction is not formed correctly. Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence patterns after verbs such as “allow” and “provide.” Greater accuracy across these structures would strengthen the response.
