Student answer (Band 5.0)
Education is very crucial for the growth of the individual and society because it provides the basic structure to the economy. Although having different kinds of subjects gives us information and knowledge about different aspects of life. I largely believe that it is a positive development in colleges and universities.
In today's rapidly involving world the issue of continuing studies after schools has increased among people. Many students continue their studies after their graduation because it is a key to success. People who continue their studies are more confident and more likely to find their job because they have enough education. For example, individuals who have higher education are more chances to get prioritised among those students who have not enough education. Another advantage is that they have more skills and knowledge and critical thinking ability.
On the other hand, the number of courses has increased in colleges and universities. This is a positive development because by knowing different subjects students are able to understand different aspects. Although it is a burden on students because difficult subjects are more time consuming and hard to learn, so students have not enough time to study other subjects. Moreover by giving more time and doing hard work can overcome these difficulties because these subjects increase the persons personal skills as well as interpersonal skills.
From my perspective having more courses student may find difficult to learn but by giving more time and doing hard work can decrease the burden.
To be conclude with having a range of courses at universities and colleges students may find difficult to memorise and to be fluent but with the consistent hard work and timely learning can overcome these difficulties and it affects both the individual and society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that the increase in further study and course choice is positive, and you address both developments. Relevant benefits include improved employment prospects, confidence, knowledge and skills. However, the support remains general: the example about graduates being prioritised is not explained or made specific, and the discussion of course variety focuses mainly on the burden of difficult subjects rather than showing how a wider choice benefits different learners. The conclusion repeats the main point but does not add a developed final insight. To strengthen the response, explain each benefit with a concrete example and make the link between more course options and positive outcomes clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the paragraphs broadly separate the benefits of further study from the range of courses. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the second paragraph moves from employment to confidence and then to skills without fully connecting or developing these points. The course paragraph shifts between benefits and drawbacks, while the final paragraph largely repeats the same idea. Linking expressions such as “Although,” “On the other hand,” and “Moreover” are used, but some do not clearly express the relationship between the ideas that follow. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving on.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “critical thinking ability,” “interpersonal skills,” “higher education” and “employment” ideas. This shows an attempt to discuss education beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, which can make meaning less clear. For example, “rapidly involving world” does not convey the intended idea, and “more chances to get prioritised” is an awkward way to describe employment prospects. There are also errors in forms such as “persons personal skills.” Build a bank of natural phrases for education and work, and check that each word fits its context and grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “Although” and “because.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For instance, “Although having different kinds of subjects gives us information” is an incomplete construction, while “individuals who have higher education are more chances” has an incorrect sentence pattern. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “having more courses student may find difficult,” and punctuation is inconsistent. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles and clause connections. More accurate control of these patterns will make your ideas easier to follow.
