Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the modern era the number of students continuing their studies after the school has grown and the availability of courses at universities and colleges has also increased. I completely agree that this is a positive development. I will be discussing about this deveplopment in the further paragraph.
To begin with the reasons why this is a positive development. Firstly, due to the range of courses available at educational institutes students can easily study according to thier interests. For example many courses are available in educational institues and students can easily pursue thier studies according to thier future preferences. Therefore these is one the reasons why this development can be considerd as a positive development.
Moving towards the other positive reasons of this development. Firstly, by increasing number of students pursuing thier studies after school will also help to increase the literacy rate in the nation and it will also help the government in many ways. For example a educated person can represent thier country on a bigger platform and can also start thier own business which will help the country to grow and provide more employment oppourtnities to other people. Therefore these are the some positive effects of this development.
In conclusin, this development have many positive effects and it will also help the country to grow and as well as a person on the individual level.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you consider the growth in post-school education and course choice to be positive. You give relevant reasons, including students choosing courses that match their interests and education contributing to literacy, business creation and employment. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than explained, and the examples remain general; for instance, you do not show how a particular course or graduate would produce the stated benefits. The response also does not fully meet the task’s development expectations because it contains 228 words, below the required 250. Extend each main idea with a specific example and explain the link between education and the benefit you claim.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas are generally grouped by reason. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited: both body paragraphs begin with a transition and then use “Firstly,” while “Therefore” repeatedly signals a conclusion without adding a new step in the argument. The opening sentence of the first body paragraph is also a fragment (“To begin with the reasons why this is a positive development”). Improve the flow by using topic sentences that state each distinct reason, then develop it with explanation and an example. Vary linking expressions and make references such as “this development” more specific where needed.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “availability of courses,” “literacy rate,” “represent,” and “employment opportunities.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “positive development,” “students,” and “help.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, such as “deveplopment,” “thier,” “institues,” “conclusin,” and “oppourtnities,” which reduce accuracy and can distract the reader. Some collocations are awkward, including “on a bigger platform” and “according to their future preferences.” Build a wider set of precise expressions for education and its outcomes, and proofread spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate your main position using mostly simple sentence patterns, and you attempt some longer sentences with clauses, such as the sentence about an educated person representing the country or starting a business. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect fluency. Examples include “I will be discussing about” (incorrect verb pattern), “these is one the reasons” (agreement and missing words), “a educated person” (article use), and “this development have” (subject–verb agreement). The opening of the first body paragraph is a sentence fragment. Practise accurate sentence patterns with subordinate clauses, and check articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries during revision.
