Student answer (Band 5.5)

In many countries, the number of people pursuing their education has increased with time. As advancement in technology increases, the number of courses in universities and colleges has also increased. In my opinion, this is a positive development that new opportunities are created for students.

Firstly, there is a range of courses available at universites and colleges. New technology is difficult from old, hence, to compete new challenges student must study new updated courses. Advancement in courses is necessary for current interest as well as for new requirements. New technology can be helpful to do things in better or effective way. For example, if a student learn about old technology in this era, he can't be able to work effeciently with new technology. However, it is essential to learn about new advancements.

Secondly, these courses help to created new job opportunites. Now, students have multiple options to continue their study. Student can select program related to his interest. By doing updated courses in universities, you can work independently at home without going to office. Students can get enrolled in a specific field of computer science rather than studying one computer book for all espects. For example, if a student intrested in datascience, he don't have to study other parts of compiter science.

In conclusion, creating new courses at colleges and universities are essential in term of getting jobs. Things are changing day by day. New techniques are much more better than previous techniques. We must stay updated to cope with new challenges.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider the growth in further education and course choice positive. You give two relevant reasons—courses help students keep pace with technological change and can prepare them for more specialised work—and include examples involving older technology and data science. This addresses the question, but the two points are not developed equally or fully. For instance, the claim that updated courses create job opportunities is asserted rather than explained with a specific link between a qualification and employment. The discussion also focuses mainly on course variety, with less attention to the increase in the number of people continuing education. Explain how that wider participation benefits individuals or society, and extend each example to show its impact.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted with “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion that restates your view. The main ideas are generally easy to follow, and examples are placed alongside the points they illustrate. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and links between claims are not always clear. In the first body paragraph, the move from technology changing to the need for updated courses and then to working effectively could be connected more explicitly. The second paragraph shifts from course choice to working from home and then to data science without fully explaining how these points relate. Use clearer cause-and-effect links and develop one central idea at a time; also make references such as “these courses” and “things” more specific.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to education and employment, including “updated courses,” “new requirements,” “job opportunities,” and “specific field of computer science.” These choices communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes some sentences less clear. For example, “technology is difficult from old” does not express the intended contrast, while “new techniques are much more better” uses an incorrect comparative form and an imprecise phrase. Spelling errors such as “universites,” “effeciently,” and “opportunites” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of collocations for discussing education, skills, and employment, and proofread spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a conditional example beginning “if a student learn about old technology” and a sentence explaining that students can select a programme related to their interests. However, control is uneven, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “a student learn,” “he don't have to study,” and “courses … are essential,” where the subject and verb do not agree. The sentence “New technology is difficult from old” also has an unclear grammatical pattern. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, and use a few accurate complex forms—such as “If students study outdated technology, they may struggle to use current systems”—rather than attempting structures you cannot yet control.
