Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you consider the growth in further education and course choice positive, and you give relevant reasons involving employment, family wellbeing and health knowledge. The examples about handwashing and reducing sodium intake help illustrate the health argument. However, the response develops the benefits of education more than the increase in available courses; this point is mentioned briefly but not explored. Some claims, such as that educated people will maintain a strict diet, are broad and would be more convincing with qualification or a specific explanation. To strengthen the response, explain how a wider range of courses benefits different learners or meets changing employment needs, and develop each main reason with a clear example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs on employment and health, and a conclusion that restates your positive view. Ideas generally progress in a sensible order, and linking expressions such as “In addition,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. At times, however, connections feel mechanical, and some references are unclear. For example, “They had the wide range of chances” does not clearly identify its subject, while the health paragraph moves from general health to handwashing and then sodium without fully linking these examples. Use clearer topic sentences and make the relationship between each claim and example explicit. Consistent paragraphing and more precise referencing would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to education, employment and health, including “financially independent,” “well-paid jobs,” “hypertension” and “development of whole nation.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “play a vital and crucial role.” However, several word choices, collocations and word forms are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes some sentences harder to understand. Examples include “carry forward the study,” “finantially independency,” “undescribable,” and “detrimental particle.” Some expressions are also repetitive or imprecise, such as “good health” and “development.” Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and checking spelling and word forms; prefer clear, natural phrasing over elaborate expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “Leading a healthy life can make one's life easier” and a sentence beginning “For instance.” The main ideas are usually understandable, but some grammatical errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. For example, “has rose” should use the correct past participle, “universities and colleges has” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “a well paid jobs” combines an incorrect article with a plural noun. The opening also joins clauses with a comma and begins “Which points out” as a fragment. Practise checking each sentence for a complete clause, correct verb form and agreement, while retaining a mix of sentence patterns.
