Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many nations these days, the number of people continuing their education after completing their school, and also the range of cources has increased at universities and colleges. This can have both advantage and disadvantage in this essay. I will attempt to point out some positive and few negative aspects of this statement.
On the one hand, the parents understand the important of education so they continue their children to study upto graduation levels. This activities automatics increase the number of students in universities. Another important factor is that due to the increased in numbers of pupils the collages has also added more couces. Moreover, the each students want to study their favourits subjects beacuse of this each universities have to increaes more cources. For example, five years ago in my home town there is only one university with few subjects like management and account. But todays there is more then 7 to 8 cources available at the same university. This all is happned because of increade in the numbers of students in my town.
On the other hand, dispites of some positive side it has some drawbacks. The pupils now are found difficulties in the selections of cources. They chooses the subjects without knowing their ability and they randomly selected any subject by looking at their friends selections. Moreover, in future they face problems to complete their studies.
In conclusion, the parents are now more understanding to continuing their childrens education after school which leads in increased in collages courses. Although, having more cources students are facing some issue in cource selections according to their knowledge capacity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the topic by discussing increased university participation and course choice, and you include a relevant personal example about your hometown university. However, the task asks whether this is a positive or negative development, and your position remains unclear: the introduction says there are both advantages and disadvantages, while the conclusion mainly restates the drawbacks without deciding which side outweighs the other. The positive points about parental support and more courses are relevant, but their benefits are not fully explained; the concern about students choosing unsuitable subjects is also brief. To strengthen the response, state your overall view clearly and develop each main reason with a fuller explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for positive and negative points, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad structure. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and links between ideas are not always clear. For example, the claim that parents value education leads to more students, but the connection between this and the expansion of courses could be explained more smoothly. The hometown example is relevant, though “This all” does not clearly identify which preceding point it refers to. Use clearer referencing and connect each example explicitly to the argument it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “universities,” “subjects,” “selections,” and “drawbacks.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make the writing less precise, such as “cources,” “collages,” “important of education,” and “increased in numbers.” Repetition of “courses,” “students,” and “increased” also restricts variety. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the general message, but they sometimes make it harder to read smoothly. Build a more accurate set of education-related expressions and check spelling carefully; also choose natural combinations such as “the importance of education” and “an increase in student numbers.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “although,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, and articles. For example, “the parents understand the important” has an incorrect noun form, while “This activities automatics increase” has problems with agreement and verb form. In “the collages has also added,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “Although, having more cources students are facing” is not formed as a complete, clear clause. Practise building accurate sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, and check subject–verb agreement and tense consistency.
