Student answer (Band 5.5)
At the present time, the awareness about education has increased a lot. This results into studing further after completing schooling. Along with this, availability of a wide range of courses at universities and colleges has also increased. In this essay, I shall ellaborate upon this topic and from my perspective, it a positive development.
To embark with, in ancient time, people used to study how much they needed. The reason behind it can be either lack of technology or having no idea about what to study further. But this problem has been solved since past few decades. The advancement of technology opens a lot doors which give an access to learn something. For instance, gaining knowledge about any field is possible while sitting at home plus at any time with the help of internet. Also, the mindsets of some people who believed that work or earning is more important than gaining knowledge has changed. In today's world in addition to the skill or talent, the evidence of having knowledge which include a degree, marksheets and many more are needed.
Furthermore, science is the stream which is developing at the speed of light. Each and everyday something new is invented. This allows to categorise a large amount of streams under one. For instance, in past, there a few known options for graduation were there such as medical, engineering, faming, etcetera. Meanwhile, nowadays there is presence of enormous variety of cources provided by universities which not only enables people to learn something but also provides employment.
Henceforth, in almost countries these days, public is focusing on studing first rather than working. This resulted to be advantageous to both public as well as country. Therefore, it is surely a positive development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you consider the rise in further education and course choice positive, and you maintain this view in the conclusion. You address both trends, linking wider access to technology and changing attitudes, and explaining that more courses can support learning and employment. These are relevant reasons, with examples such as studying online and the contrast between older and newer course options. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that qualifications are now needed alongside talent could be connected more directly to why increased participation is beneficial. The discussion of course variety also focuses mainly on science and employment, leaving other possible benefits less explored. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or specific example to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from increased access to education, to the expansion of courses, and then to your overall judgement. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “For instance,” and “Therefore” help signal relationships between points. At times, however, these transitions feel formulaic, and some connections are not fully clear. The opening of the second body paragraph, “science is the stream which is developing,” shifts from course choice to scientific progress without clearly explaining the link. The conclusion also introduces the broad claim that people are focusing on study rather than work, which has not been established in the body. Make the links between claims explicit and ensure the conclusion synthesises the reasons already discussed.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “advancement of technology,” “mindsets,” “employment,” and “enormous variety,” which helps communicate your ideas about education. There are also attempts to use more formal expressions, but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “awareness about education,” “opens a lot doors,” and “presence of enormous variety.” Spelling errors including “studing,” “ellaborate,” and “cources” also reduce accuracy. Some wording is vague or imprecise: “how much they needed” does not clearly express the intended idea, and “faming” appears to be an incorrect form. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully; precise phrasing will make your argument sound more fluent and academic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “which,” “while,” and “who,” and most of your meaning remains understandable. However, errors occur across sentence structures and verb forms. For example, “from my perspective, it a positive development” is missing a verb, while “This resulted to be advantageous” uses an incorrect construction. There are also problems with articles and sentence formation in “in past, there a few known options … were there,” and the long sentence beginning “The reason behind it can be either…” is awkwardly structured. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the overall message can be followed. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build complex sentences with clearer clause relationships and consistent verb forms.
