Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a clear overall opinion: you call the increase in further education and course choice “a very good and positive thing,” and you connect education with technological development. You also acknowledge the high cost of university study, which is relevant. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: the benefits are asserted rather than explained with specific examples, and the point about fees is not developed into a clear counterargument or comparison. The discussion also repeats the same general claim instead of examining how a wider range of courses benefits people or society. The response is 23 words below the required minimum, so there is less space to develop your ideas. Add specific examples and explain how they support your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a recognisable overall direction: you state your positive view, mention the cost of study, and return to your recommendation that parents encourage further education. Basic linking expressions such as “because,” “however,” and “that’s why” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the response is presented as one long block, with no paragraphing to separate the main argument, the cost concern, and the conclusion. Many points run together, and repeated phrases such as “very good” and “continuing their education” do not create clear progression. Some links are difficult to follow, particularly the move from professors studying throughout life to the claim that sacrifices will not be wasted. Use separate paragraphs and organise each around one clearly explained point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a basic set of topic-related words, including “education,” “universities,” “courses,” “technology,” and “development,” so the general subject is understandable. There are also attempts to express evaluation and consequence, such as “positive thing” and “the life will be easy.” However, vocabulary is repetitive and often imprecise, which makes some ideas difficult to interpret. Phrases such as “the word now needs educative people” and “the biggest professors” do not communicate the intended meaning naturally. Spelling and word-form errors, including “thechnology,” “profisors,” and “sacrificising,” further strain the reader. Build a more accurate range of academic collocations and check spelling; for example, describe the need for “educated workers” and the “cost of tuition.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences using words such as “because,” “when,” and “but,” and the reader can identify your main position. However, sentence structures are very limited in control, and errors occur throughout, sometimes making relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “When the people continuing their education we will see” lacks a correctly formed clause, while “people suffering and losing things for continuing” has faulty verb patterns. Agreement and verb forms are also problematic in “the courses … has increased” and “they will not going.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, with nearly the entire response in capitals and several ideas joined by full stops or “and” without clear sentence boundaries. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled subordinate clauses.
