Student answer (Band 5.5)

In contemporary society, education is a matter of considerable debate because in many countries these days, the number of people continuing their education after school has increased, and the range of courses available at universities and collages has also increased. From my perspective, this is a positive development because education is the basic necessary for everyone. Moreover, courses are also very significant for better career.

To begin with, the main reason is related to improve skills. Numerous people can get different better skills in their life with the help of education. In addition, they can also become more confident and increase their confidence level. For instance, A student who have completed his school education and after he got admission in private collage. Furthermore, he can also create a lot of aims from his collage life and he also want to fulfill their dreams in the future.

On the other hand, the other significant reason is related to provide more job opportunities in the future and can also provide better career. In addition, there are different types of courses are available at universities and collage such as, mass communication, IT and more modern subjects has also increased. Similarly, they can also get different experience with the help of courses. For instance, government introduced significant number of Laboratories in universities where students can do their task practically and they can also increase their knowledge. They can make assignment and also can take part in different university competitions. Moreover, In this way these activities can control their hesitations and make them more independent in life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you consider the growth in further education and course choice positive, and you give relevant reasons involving skills, confidence, and employment. The examples about practical laboratory work and university activities also relate to the topic. However, the response only partly develops the task: the first example about a student entering a private college does not explain clearly how this demonstrates the benefits, and the discussion of increased course variety is mostly a list rather than an explanation of its value. The conclusion refers to career opportunities and independence but does not bring the main arguments together in detail. To strengthen the response, explain each reason with a specific cause-and-effect link and a more fully developed example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and the reader can generally follow the positive position. You use signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from skills to confidence, then to a student’s aims without clearly connecting these points. “On the other hand” also suggests a contrast, although the next paragraph gives another supporting reason for the same position. Repeated additions such as “In addition,” “Moreover,” and “Similarly” make the linking feel mechanical. Group related points and use clearer references and transitions to show how each example supports the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “career opportunities,” “mass communication,” “practically,” and “independent,” so the main ideas are understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated or imprecise, such as “different better skills,” “confidence level,” and “significant reason.” Some word combinations are unnatural, including “education is the basic necessary” and “create a lot of aims.” There are also spelling errors in “collages” and “collage” where you mean “college.” These choices sometimes make the reader work to interpret your meaning. Build a more precise range of education-related collocations and check spelling, while avoiding repeated general words such as “different” and “significant.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using clauses introduced by “because,” “where,” and “with the help of,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in basic sentence patterns and in more complex attempts: “A student who have completed his school education and after he got admission” has faulty agreement and an incomplete structure, while “there are different types of courses are available” contains an unnecessary repeated verb. Other examples include “subjects has also increased” and “they can also provide better career,” where agreement or sentence construction is unclear. Articles, plurals, and punctuation also need attention. Practise building complete sentences with one clear subject and verb, then check agreement and clause structure before adding extra information.
