Student answer (Band 6.0)

In various nations, the ratio of people to study education after school has increased. Also, various number of courses are available at universities and colleges. In my view, Individuals are getting good number of opportunities and choices to study according to their interests.

On the one hand, it is beneficial for the students to get this chance as they can select courses according to their choice. As a result, they will achieve excellent skills and it will be beneficial for economical growth. This will also help in businesses and companies growth. To quote an example, students can show their skills in various sectors such as technology, heathcare and business. Students can also study specialised courses such as AI or Cybersecurity which will help them to prepare themselves for the growing industries.

On the other hand, choice will also increase the competitions in the market. Students may also get confused and face difficulties to select the courses. As a result, they may take hasty decisions which will result in difficulties to get the job. To give an example, universities offering various courses will result in confusing for the students. As there are many graduates in the market but they are still struggling to get a job and having a degree is a different thing but skills matters the most. The competition level will also increase for them.

In my opinion, getting a choice of various courses will boost the education system globally. It will also affect the economical growth and enchance the skills of the individual.

Conclusion, the government should spread awareness and educate people about the courses universities are offering. They should also conduct some seminars and encourage student to select courses carefully by giving workshops or by conducting career counselings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you see the wider access to further education and course choice as positive, while acknowledging possible confusion and stronger competition. You address both sides and give relevant examples, including courses in AI and cybersecurity and graduates struggling to find work. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the link between students’ skills and “economical growth” is not developed, and the concern about competition is repeated without showing how it specifically results from the increased range of courses. The conclusion offers practical advice about seminars and career counselling, but could more directly weigh the benefits against the drawbacks. Developing these ideas with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the shift between benefits and drawbacks, and examples generally follow the points they illustrate. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose. In the second body paragraph, the discussion moves from course choice to hasty decisions, job prospects, graduates, and competition without clearly connecting each step. Some linking is mechanical, with repeated “As a result” and “also,” while “Conclusion” is not used as a complete transition. Make each paragraph follow a clear point–explanation–example sequence, and use referencing and transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “specialised courses,” “growing industries,” “skills,” and “career” advice. There are also attempts at more specific terms such as “Cybersecurity.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “ratio of people to study education,” “various number of courses,” “economical growth,” and “confusing for the students.” Spelling errors such as “heathcare” and “enchance” also reduce accuracy. Some key words, including “students,” “courses,” and “choice,” recur frequently. Build a more reliable range of natural academic collocations and check spelling; this will help express your relevant ideas more precisely and flexibly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning “as they can select courses” and “which will help them to prepare themselves.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “Students may also get confused and face difficulties to select” needs a different verb pattern, while “skills matters the most” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening sentence, “the ratio of people to study education after school has increased,” also has an unclear grammatical construction. Capitalisation is inconsistent, as in “Individuals” mid-sentence, and the final paragraph begins with the fragment “Conclusion,” rather than a complete introductory phrase. Practise accurate verb patterns, agreement, and complete sentence structures while retaining your attempts at complex clauses.
