Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a clear positive position, stating that wider course choice encourages education and can benefit society and the economy. The examples of computer science and machine learning, and support for poorer families, are relevant to the topic. However, the response only partially develops the argument: the claims that more courses improve the economy and help families are asserted rather than explained with specific outcomes or examples. The discussion also focuses more on course availability than on the broader increase in post-school education. The conclusion repeats your view but does not add a developed summary. The response is 186 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum; this limits how fully you can address and support the task. Develop two or three reasons in more depth and illustrate their effects.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
Your response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally relate to the positive position, and linking expressions such as “For example,” “Therefore,” and “Furthermore” help signal relationships. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. For instance, the move from government schemes for poorer families to the number of colleges being constructed is not fully explained, and “Furthermore, it helps for their family situation” does not clearly connect to the preceding economic point. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “it” and “their” have unclear antecedents. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one main reason, explain it step by step, and use precise references to connect sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “continuing their education,” “computer science,” “machine learning,” “universities,” and “economy,” which makes your main ideas understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, word-form and spelling errors reduce accuracy. Examples include “positive develpments,” “varities of fields,” “poor class families,” and “fulfill the requirement.” Some phrases are also vague, such as “helps for their family situation” and “improvement in technology.” Aim for more precise academic expressions and check spelling and natural word combinations. For example, describe how education can improve “employment prospects” or “household income,” rather than relying on broad claims about development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate your general position using mostly simple sentence patterns, and you attempt some longer structures with “because,” “if,” and “which.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “many people continuning their education” lacks a finite verb, while “I strongly believed” uses an unsuitable tense for your current opinion. In “more people are started getting admission,” the verb construction is faulty, and “it improve country overall economy” has agreement and article problems. These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
