Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that expanding university and college courses is positive, and the example of your father becoming a doctor helps connect education with family wellbeing and service to others. However, the response only partially addresses the question: the discussion of people who believe school education is enough is not clearly linked to your own evaluation, and the benefits of a wider range of courses are asserted rather than explained. The ideas about opportunities and pursuing interests need specific development, such as explaining how course choice can match labour-market needs. The response is also 15 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop and support your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some organisation: the response moves from reasons for continuing education to the growth in course choice and then to a concluding opinion. Basic linking expressions such as “on the other hand,” “furthermore” and “so” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is difficult to follow because several points are crowded into one paragraph, and the contrast introduced by “on the other hand” is not clearly resolved. The sentence about your father, for example, shifts abruptly to serving poor people. Some connectors are repeated or used where the relationship between ideas is unclear. Use separate paragraphs for contrasting views, your supporting reasons and your conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “education system,” “opportunities,” “income” and “courses,” and the reader can generally identify your main message. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “good,” “education” and “life.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “collage” for “college,” “prospective” where “perspective” is intended, and “complete their education” where the reference is unclear. These errors sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocations; for example, explain how course choice can improve employment prospects rather than relying on general claims about a “good life.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example by using “because” and “if,” but most sentence patterns are simple or become difficult to control when several ideas are joined. Frequent errors in sentence boundaries, verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation can make the reader pause: “people respect the educated man.on other hand” lacks appropriate sentence separation, while “it provide different oppournities” has an agreement error. The opening also contains incomplete or unclear grammatical relationships. Practise writing accurate simple sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb, use full stops consistently, and review singular/plural agreement and articles before submitting.
