Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both the increase in further study and the wider choice of courses, and you present a mixed view by noting benefits as well as drawbacks. Relevant points include scholarships, studying in one’s home country, difficulty choosing a course, and graduate unemployment. However, the position is not fully clear: the introduction says the development has both positive and negative effects, while the conclusion mainly calls for more jobs rather than stating which overall view you support. Several ideas are asserted rather than explained—for example, the link between course choice and unemployment needs clearer reasoning or a specific example. State your overall judgement directly and develop fewer points with explanation and evidence to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to benefits, drawbacks, and a concluding recommendation. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and phrases such as “As there are also some negative aspects” signal a change in direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: the discussion of scholarships shifts quickly to studying abroad and then competition, without showing how each point connects to the main argument. Some links are mechanical or unclear, and “This development” does not always identify a precise idea. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting point explicitly to the paragraph’s central claim. A conclusion that restates your overall position would also give the essay a stronger sense of completion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “scholarships,” “merit position,” “graduates,” and “unemployed.” There are also attempts at more specific terms such as “engineering” and “literature.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “course,” “study,” and “education.” Frequent spelling errors—such as “availbel,” “opppertunities,” and “strugling”—and inaccurate word forms or collocations, including “jobs oppertunity” and “education become important,” make the writing less precise and can slow the reader. Build a bank of accurate academic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help distinguish course availability, student choice, and employment outcomes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “unless if you want to study same subject in other country you can.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often not controlled successfully. Errors occur frequently in verb forms and agreement (“universities offers,” “This motivate,” “the competition get tough”), articles and plurals (“in other country,” “everyone basic right”), and sentence construction (“As there are also some negative aspects of this development” is an incomplete clause). Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses, and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and necessary articles before adding complexity.
