Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You express a general view that wider access to education is positive, while acknowledging that difficult subjects can create pressure. The examples of Allama Iqbal Open University, scholarships, and courses for women are relevant to education access. However, the response only partly answers the question: it gives little explanation of why the increased range of university and college courses is beneficial or harmful, and the disadvantages are asserted rather than illustrated. The position also shifts between calling the development “very good” and emphasising its negative effects, without clearly weighing them. Develop two or three focused reasons, explain their consequences, and use a specific example to support each point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: it introduces the topic, gives examples of educational opportunities, and later considers disadvantages before stating an opinion. However, ideas are not arranged in a consistently logical progression, and several points appear as separate statements rather than parts of a developed argument. For example, the discussion moves from universities in different countries to internet resources, women’s courses, and scholarships without showing how these examples connect. The final section repeats that education has positive and negative effects instead of drawing the argument together. Use clear paragraphs with one main idea each, and connect examples to that idea using straightforward transitions and clear references.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “university,” “scholarship,” “resources,” and “activities,” so the main subject is usually identifiable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “student,” “learn,” and “difficult subject.” Frequent spelling errors, such as “cources,” “apportunities,” and “universties,” also make the writing less clear and reduce accuracy. Some expressions are imprecise, including “the number of counting increased” and “every thing,” which do not communicate the intended meaning naturally. Build a topic-specific vocabulary set and check spelling, word forms, and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to communicate several ideas in sentences of different lengths, and some simple statements can be understood. However, sentence structures are mostly basic, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently. For example, “the million of student studies” has problems with number and agreement, while “these difficult subject student bored” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, making sentence boundaries difficult to follow in places. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “although,” and “which.” Check that each sentence has a subject and a correctly formed verb.
