Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear positive view, and your personal experience of being allowed to continue studying gives the response a relevant starting point. You also mention that education can support girls and that it is “the key of success.” However, the discussion responds only minimally to the question: the increased range of university and college courses is repeated but not explained, and the benefits of more people continuing education are asserted rather than supported with developed examples. The personal account is difficult to follow and its connection to the wider development is not made explicit. The response is also 239 words, 11 words below the 250-word minimum; 11 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop two clear reasons and explain how each supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a recognisable positive position, and phrases such as “Thats why” and “but when the time pass” attempt to connect ideas. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the reader cannot easily distinguish an introduction, supporting points, and a conclusion. Ideas also circle back repeatedly to the same claims—for example, that education is important and that course availability has increased—without a clear progression. Some links are unclear: the account of your parents and grandmother moves abruptly into claims about girls in your country. Use separate paragraphs, give each one a single main point, and connect examples explicitly to that point. A brief conclusion should summarise the reasons for your positive view rather than introduce another repeated assertion.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “education,” “universities,” “courses,” and “positive development,” so the general subject is usually identifiable. However, the range is narrow and several phrases are repeated, particularly “the range of courses … has also increased” and “the best thing.” Spelling errors such as “coursese,” “avalible,” “effient,” and “socitiese” make the writing less clear, while expressions such as “arrested in my own house” and “impact a positive effect” are inaccurate or unnatural in context. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, explain the specific benefit of course choice rather than repeatedly calling it “the best thing.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response mainly uses simple statements and attempts a few longer sentences with “because,” “but,” and “when.” These attempts show some effort to connect clauses, but control is weak: “In many countries the number … has increased i think” joins ideas without appropriate sentence boundaries, and “when the time pass my grandmother advise my parents” has errors in tense and agreement. Other examples include “my parents are not allowed to get more education” and “It is important for ever one to continue their study i,” where verb forms, pronouns, and sentence completion are problematic. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise writing complete sentences with one main idea, then check subject–verb agreement, past-tense forms, and full stops. More accurate simple sentences should come before adding complex clauses.
