Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, more people are interseted in extending their education after school in many countries. In addition, universities are offering a wide range of courses. In my opinion, it is a positive development, as increasing rate of education develop a nation and students get interested by various courses.

Universities are introducing various kinds of courses in the modern era. They are developing many courses, which provide specefic knowledge about some core subjects. For an example, physics is divided into several courses like neuclear physics, quantam physics, and space physics, which provide the opportunity to chose one specefic course, which decreases student's pressure and gains proper knowledge about that subject. As a result, a student masters that subject, and becomes professional. This scenario motivates students in continuing their studies after school.

I believe, this is a positive development because a wide range of subjects avaibility increases study interest of the students. More students prefer studying after school, which increases the literacy rate of a nation and benefical for the development of a country because more professionals are developed, who contributes in several sectors of a nation. Moreover, innovations may increased by involving more courses, as these create opportunities to research about specefic problems. If the courses are more in number, researches will be more specefic, which will result in more innovations.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that, increasing number of students in the universities andproviding wide range of subjects, both are positive developments as, these are beneficial for a nation's development and also introduce new innovations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider both the growth in post-school study and the wider choice of courses positive. You support this with relevant points about specialisation, students gaining expertise, national development and innovation. The physics examples help make the discussion more specific. However, the two parts of the prompt are not explored equally: most of the explanation concerns course variety, while the increase in the number of people continuing education is mainly linked to literacy and professional development without a concrete example or fuller explanation. The claim that more courses lead to more innovation is also asserted rather than illustrated. Developing these points with a specific example would make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs give supporting reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Ideas generally progress logically, and linking expressions such as “As a result,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The first body paragraph focuses on course specialisation, while the next repeats the benefit of course variety before moving to national development and innovation. The phrase “This scenario” also has an unclear reference, and the conclusion compresses several ideas into one sentence. Organising each body paragraph around a distinct reason and using clearer references would make the progression more consistent and cohesion less mechanical.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “wide range of courses,” “core subjects,” “literacy rate,” “professionals,” and “innovations,” and you attempt more specific terms such as “nuclear physics” and “quantum physics.” This gives you enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, but inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “interseted,” “specefic,” “avaibility,” and “benefical.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “students get interested by various courses” and “increasing rate of education develop a nation.” Aim to learn accurate forms and natural collocations as complete phrases, and avoid repeating “courses” and “development” when a more precise alternative is available.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including relative clauses (“which provide the opportunity…”) and conditional structures (“If the courses are more in number…”). The main ideas remain understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction recur. For example, “increasing rate of education develop a nation” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “who contributes” should agree with the plural “professionals.” In “innovations may increased,” the modal requires the base verb, and “a student masters that subject, and becomes professional” has an unnecessary comma and an article issue. Review agreement and verb patterns, then proofread punctuation and articles. More accurate control of these structures would strengthen the response.
