Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You identify the topic and mention possible benefits, including “future job opportunities,” “career development” and improved skills. However, the response does not clearly answer whether the development is positive or negative: the opening suggests benefits, but the final sentence introduces a negative point without explaining your overall view. The ideas are also only briefly stated, with no examples or explanation of how wider course choice affects students or society. The response is substantially below the required 250 words, so the task is addressed only minimally. To improve, state your position clearly, develop two relevant reasons with specific examples, and explain any opposing view before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces the subject, “Firstly” signals a supporting point, and a final sentence presents a possible disadvantage. These markers give the reader some indication of the intended sequence. However, the ideas do not form a clear progression: the negative point appears abruptly, and there is no conclusion to resolve the contrast or restate your position. The paragraphing is also limited, and the relationship between increased course availability and the claimed benefits is not made explicit. Use separate paragraphs for your introduction, main arguments and conclusion, and connect each point with clear explanation rather than relying mainly on simple signposts.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, such as “education,” “universities,” “career development” and “professional skills,” so the general subject is understandable. There are also attempts to express broader effects, including “future job opportunities” and “benefit in our society.” However, the range is limited, and several phrases are awkward or imprecise, such as “increased people brain development” and “courses range are available.” These choices make some ideas difficult to interpret and reduce precision. Build a wider set of natural collocations for education and employment, and check word forms and spelling. For example, describe courses as “a wider range of courses” and explain that education can “enhance cognitive development.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both a longer opening sentence and a reason introduced by “Firstly,” showing some effort to move beyond isolated simple statements. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement and sentence construction often make the meaning unclear. For example, “the number of individuals were continued” has an incorrect verb structure, while “the courses range are available” has faulty agreement and word order. In “that can increased,” the modal is followed by the wrong verb form. The final sentence, “Negative impact that people can not study education after school timing,” is also incomplete and difficult to follow. Practise accurate simple sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses and check subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
