Student answer (Band 5.5)

In numerous countries now a days, the number of the students continuing their education after the high school has rose significantly. The courses offered in the universities was also rised. I believed that this was the largely positive trend as having degree now a days become essential for everyone to work in the future.

On one hand, having higher education after school has rise. This is beneficial for the students as they will have modern learning in the universities. The choices of courses also rose which means now a days students will choose articial intelligence subjects. Time is changing rapidly along with that, the education system has new method of learning. For example, in the recent time a kid with higher education from university has made a articial intelligence company and made millions of dollars from it. This is soly possible by having a good education.

On the other hand, presuing the studies after school could be expensive. Advanced studies required a lot money to complete the degree. Many individuals believe that those money can be spend on other things such as developing the skills. This will help the students to have skills alongside of their education. This will able to earn money in the future by utilizing their experience. For example, recently a research showed that a child from africa invent a robot using his skills he has after his school time.

In conclusion, in the present time parents prefer to send their children to the universities for higher studies. They courses offered was also increase which means students can study what they desire to have.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that the increase is positive, mainly because higher education and a wider choice of courses can prepare people for future work. You also acknowledge a relevant drawback—cost—and offer examples, so the response addresses both sides of the question. However, the position is not fully sustained: the conclusion describes parents’ preferences and course choice without clearly restating whether the development is positive or negative. Several points are asserted rather than explained, such as the claim that a degree is essential for everyone, and the examples of the AI company and the child inventing a robot are not developed enough to show how they support your argument. Explain the examples and connect them directly to your judgement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. The signposts “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers identify the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and ideas can feel like separate claims rather than a connected argument. For example, the discussion moves from modern learning to artificial intelligence courses and then to a successful company without explaining the links between them. The conclusion also introduces parents’ preferences rather than drawing together the main points. Use clearer topic sentences, develop one idea at a time, and use referencing such as “this investment” or “these opportunities” to make connections explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “higher education,” “courses,” “skills,” “degree,” and “utilizing their experience.” These choices make the general subject clear, and you attempt more specific terms such as “artificial intelligence.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make the writing less natural. Examples include “now a days,” “articial intelligence,” “soly,” and “presuing,” as well as “made millions of dollars from it,” which is imprecise in this context. Repetition of “students,” “education,” and “courses” also limits flexibility. Build a bank of accurate phrases such as “pursue further education,” “broader range of degree programmes,” and “career prospects,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause in “as having degree now a days become essential” and a relative clause in “a kid with higher education from university has made…” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the range remains limited and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Verb forms and agreement are recurring problems: “has rose,” “courses … was also rised,” and “those money can be spend.” Articles and sentence construction also need attention, as in “having degree” and “This will able to earn money.” Practise forming accurate past and present perfect verbs, matching subjects and verbs, and using articles. Then check each sentence for a complete, correctly formed clause.
