Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear opinion—“it is a positive development”—and begin a relevant reason by linking further study and degrees with better job opportunities. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not explain the benefits of the wider range of courses, consider any drawbacks, or develop its main point with a specific example. The second paragraph stops after “Moreover, th”, so the argument is left unfinished and there is no conclusion. The response also falls substantially short of the required minimum length, which limits how fully you can present and support your position. To improve, complete the essay, explain how course choice benefits different students or industries, and support each main idea with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph gives your position, and “on the one hand” introduces a supporting point. The ideas that are present are relevant and the reader can identify the intended direction. However, the essay is too incomplete to show a coherent progression from introduction through developed body paragraphs to a conclusion. The linking phrase “on the one hand” also suggests a contrasting point will follow, but no corresponding development appears. The unfinished “Moreover, th” interrupts the flow. Write complete paragraphs, use clear topic sentences, and connect each explanation or example directly to the point it supports. A brief conclusion should restate your view and bring the argument to a clear close.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “degrees,” “job opportunities,” “specific,” and “vast amount of knowledge.” These choices communicate the general idea that further education can help people qualify for work. However, the range is limited in this short response, and several spelling errors—such as “diffrent,” “colages,” and “contuing”—make the writing look less controlled. Some phrasing is also imprecise: “providing are range of courses” does not express the intended meaning accurately. Build a wider set of education-related expressions, such as “a broader choice of programmes” and “specialist qualifications,” and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary will help you explain your ideas rather than merely name them.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both a compound sentence in the introduction and a conditional structure in “if people have degrees,” showing some ability to connect ideas beyond simple statements. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. In “many student … continue there education,” the plural noun and possessive form are incorrect; “the universities and colages are also providing are range” also contains errors in article use and sentence construction. The lowercase “i” and the comma after “Nowadays” are further punctuation and capitalisation issues. The response is too brief to demonstrate a wider range of sentence structures, and the final sentence fragment is incomplete. Practise accurate plural forms, possessives, articles, and complete sentence construction, then proofread each sentence for agreement and punctuation.
