Student answer (Band 6.0)

The education after the school has grown and the variety of courses have also increased at colleges and universities is a widely debated issue across the world. The increased number of the students is necessary for the healthy nation, and increase in the range of couses will help in the opening of the multiple new job sectors.

Firstly of all, the education of a student after the school is in the benefit of a country. The uneducated and the un-skilled person has no means of earning bread and butter, moreover, they are not fulfilling their role in the society, which is not good for both the country and the person. For instance, in Pakistan, there are nearly 40 percent illiterate people, they are usually beggars or they are in the child labor.

On the other hand, the increase in the variety of courses will eventually leads to the creation of new jobs. The diiferent and specific course will have good impact on the employer, so the employer will create a new job. For example, the job of media management was not available in the Pakistan, but with the passage of time and with the sudden boom in media led comapnies to create a new job of the media management.

In conclusion, the more students continuing their education after the school is in the benefit of the country. Moreover, the development in the range of courses is a positive effect on the job market, as it will provide more opportunities, and it will eventually leads to the benefit of the nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you consider both increased participation in further education and a wider choice of courses to be positive. You address both parts of the topic and support them with relevant examples, including illiteracy and child labour in Pakistan, and the emergence of media-management jobs. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that uneducated people do not fulfil their role in society is broad, and the link between a new course and employers creating jobs needs more explanation. Develop each example by showing more precisely how education or course diversity benefits individuals and the wider economy.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. The progression from education’s benefits to the effect of course variety is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly” and “On the other hand” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some flexibility in organising the argument. To make the flow more natural, avoid relying on formulaic transitions and improve links between claims and examples. In the first body paragraph, for example, the move from the general claim about education to the Pakistan example could be explained more explicitly. The conclusion also repeats earlier points rather than synthesising them.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “illiterate,” “child labor,” “variety of courses,” and “job market,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “media management” and “media led companies.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the writing less natural: “healthy nation,” “opening of the multiple new job sectors,” “diiferent,” and “comapnies.” Some phrases, such as “earning bread and butter,” are conversational rather than well suited to this academic argument. Aim for more precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your meaning clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “the uneducated and the un-skilled person …, which is not good” and a contrastive structure beginning “On the other hand.” However, control is inconsistent, particularly with subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “the variety of courses have” should use a singular verb, while “will eventually leads” should be “will eventually lead.” The sentence beginning “For instance, in Pakistan” also joins independent ideas with a comma, and several sentences have awkward or incomplete grammatical patterns. These errors do not prevent the reader from following your overall argument, but they limit accuracy. Practise checking agreement and sentence boundaries, while building more reliable complex sentences.
