Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you consider the increase in further education and course choice positive, while acknowledging that affordability is a risk. You give relevant reasons, including gaining subject knowledge, improving job prospects, and strengthening universities’ reputation and income. The paragraph on costs also introduces a pertinent concern. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the link between course availability and universities attracting international students is difficult to follow, and the example about corruption in developing countries needs clearer support. Develop the affordability point and explain how government funding would address it. This would make the response more balanced and fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on risks, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “However,” and “To sum up” help signal the direction of the argument. Overall, the reader can follow your positive position. At times, though, connections are mechanical or unclear. The benefits paragraph moves from students’ learning to employment and then to universities’ income and international admissions without clearly linking these ideas. Some sentences also contain several points, making the progression harder to track. Use one main idea per sentence, and add clearer explanations between related claims; this will make the organisation more consistently logical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “research papers,” “multinational companies,” “affordability,” “government funding,” and “higher education.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both educational benefits and financial barriers. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear, as in “availibility,” “collageous,” “underdevelopmet,” and “addmisions plateform.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “land a job in … companies in futures” and “a good steps.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common academic collocations, particularly for discussing access, costs, and employment. More precise phrasing would help your ideas come across smoothly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction (“although it has some risk”) and a conditional idea about fees causing stress. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “the number of people … has increased after the availability” has an unclear sentence structure, while “there are not able to” and “which help students” show problems with verb forms and agreement. Articles, plurals, and punctuation also need attention, as in “a good steps” and the missing spaces after full stops. Aim for shorter, complete sentences first, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
