You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Now a days there are more Phd scholars than the past. People wants to study more than the past. By increasing demand of studying the universities has introduced a lot of subjects and courses.
In my opinion it is a very positive development because of the advancement in the technology . If people learn more they research more than it will more abvious to find out the solutions of problems.
I researched on functionalized membrame devolopment that was a novel research because in that research i used to find out the ways to remove chromium VI from the waste water by increasing the water flux. The membranes that are uses now are simple and has lowed water flux but the membrane that i had developed more efficient and less costly.
All these things are because the universities offer new courses and give a chance to students to make something new and helpful for the society.
Modern problems has modern solutions. If we compare the present and the past then we came to know that the most recent front is advancement in technology. Its all due to increasing the knowlege and the enthusiasm to know something new.
By seeing that universities developed well furnished labs with advance equipments. The number of research institutes also increased in a fast pace.
In conclusion, the problems are rising because of advancement in technology. To overcome these problems we have to research more. Universities offer new courses and students learn these to find out the solution of the problem that are existing to make our world better.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you consider the growth in further education and course choice positive, mainly because it supports research and helps address modern problems. The example of developing a membrane to remove chromium from wastewater gives your argument relevant, personal support. However, the response focuses much more on research and technology than on the broader effects of more people continuing education or the expanding range of courses. Some points, such as universities having better-equipped laboratories and research institutes, are asserted rather than explained. To strengthen the response, develop how wider access to education benefits individuals or society, and explain more fully how course diversity contributes to those benefits.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an overall structure, moving from an introduction to your opinion, a personal research example, supporting points, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction understandable. However, progression between ideas is sometimes loose: the discussion shifts from your membrane research to modern problems, then to laboratories and research institutes without clearly showing how each point develops the previous one. Linking phrases such as “All these things” and “By seeing that” are vague or awkward, while “In conclusion” usefully signals the ending. Organise the body into clearer stages—for example, one paragraph on research benefits and another on wider educational opportunities—and use precise references to connect each claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt some topic-specific vocabulary, including “functionalized membrane,” “chromium VI,” “waste water,” and “water flux,” which helps make the personal example concrete. There is also an effort to use academic expressions such as “novel research” and “advancement in technology.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “membrame,” “devolopment,” “abvious,” and “knowlege.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “increasing demand of studying” and “in a fast pace.” These choices sometimes make the argument less clear. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, such as “demand for further study” and “at a rapid pace.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at more complex structures, including conditional reasoning in “If people learn more…” and a relative clause in “the membrane that I had developed.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “People wants” should be “People want,” “the universities has introduced” should be “universities have introduced,” and “the problems are rising” does not fit the intended meaning as naturally as “problems are increasing.” The sentence beginning “If people learn more” is also incomplete or unclear in its construction. Practise building accurate complex sentences, and check subject–verb agreement and tense consistency before submitting.
