Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider the growth in further education and course choice a positive development, and you return to this view in the conclusion. You address both aspects of the prompt, discussing employment and skills as well as newer subjects such as AI and digital marketing. The examples about Pakistani freelancers and students choosing courses by interest help make the response relevant. This meets the task well, with some elements showing the fuller development expected at the next level. However, several claims remain broad or insufficiently explained—for example, that education reduces crime, or that new fields create better job prospects. Develop these points with a clear explanation or a specific example, and explain the drawback of degree devaluation that you briefly mention.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs with separate main themes, and a conclusion. The progression from employment benefits to expanded course choice is generally logical, and phrases such as “In the recent years” and “In conclusion” signal movement between ideas. However, connections are sometimes mechanical, and the second body paragraph repeats the idea of new fields without fully developing it. Some sentences are also difficult to follow because several points are joined together, while “New fields like data science, digital marketing and many others” is a fragment rather than a complete step in the argument. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and make each paragraph build one central point in a more deliberate sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “higher education,” “job opportunities,” “freelancing,” “data science,” and “degree devaluation.” These choices allow you to discuss both employment and course variety, and some subject-specific terms add useful detail. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: examples include “peoples,” “signifcant,” “developed skill worforce,” and “earn millions dollar.” Repetition of “many,” “large number,” and “field” also limits flexibility. Aim for more precise academic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. For instance, describe a “skilled workforce” and say that people “earn millions of dollars,” rather than translating these expressions word by word.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “due to this competition” and a relative clause in “from which they earn…”. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but grammatical control is uneven, and errors in basic structures recur. For example, “There are increasing number of people are pursuing” combines incompatible sentence patterns; “a wide variety of subjects are study” has an incorrect verb form; and “everyone getting busy in study” lacks a finite verb. Articles, agreement, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Proofread each sentence for a complete verb and consistent agreement before adding more complex structures.
