Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a generally positive position, especially in the conclusion, and give relevant reasons such as access to further study, better jobs and national progress. However, the position is not stated clearly at the outset, and the response only partly addresses the question: it does not explain whether the increased range of courses is itself beneficial or discuss possible drawbacks. Several points, including “serve their knowledge for the progress of country,” are asserted rather than explained with a specific example. The response also falls 28 words short of the required minimum, limiting the space available to develop its ideas. State your view directly in the introduction, then explain and support two main reasons in detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the response moves from the importance of education to access, benefits and a concluding view. The final sentence signals a conclusion, and phrases such as “therefore” and “overall” attempt to connect ideas. However, the paragraphs are not clearly separated, and the progression is difficult to follow because several different points are crowded into long, loosely connected sentences. For example, the discussion of limited access, opening institutions and national progress would be clearer if each idea had its own paragraph and explanation. Linking words are also limited or used mechanically. Organise the essay into an introduction, focused body paragraphs and a conclusion, using clear references and transitions between related points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to education and its effects, including “further education,” “resources,” “opportunity” and “progress.” This gives the response enough basic language to communicate its general message. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts harder to understand, such as “neccessary,” “benifits,” “institues” and “under constucted nations.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “your value in a whole world is zero” and “made good money for family.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and choose precise terms such as “developing countries” rather than unclear descriptions. Vary repeated words such as “education,” “student” and “country.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response mainly uses simple statements and attempts some longer sentences with reasons, for example, “because it is directly effect on there lifes.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the longer structures are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Examples include missing or incorrect articles and agreement in “any country existing in earth gives,” “many student,” and “such development in countries leads.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent: several sentences begin without capital letters or run together without full stops. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with correct subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation.
