Student answer (Band 5.0)
As modern society continues to evolve, the increase in the number of higher education students and the availability of several university courses have become increasingly a serious debate in many countries. I strongly believe this is a positive development because students can improve their career prospects and aquire diifferent effective skills.
First, it is widely acknowledged that nowadays students are more aware about the impotance of continuing high education studies. Studying at university plays a crucial role in improving students career prospects in the long run, this is mainly because they will have the ability to learn specific domain and work on it later, therefore, high education opens many doorscbeacuse students with high capacity will have different opprtunities in the work market.
Second, there is no denying that the range of courses available at universities and colleges allows students to follow their interest and choose an effective field such as medicine or economic. In addition, those studies enable students to gain several skills and developed them later to foster their productivity and creativity. For instance, students who have different options to study will have a high chance to be well-educated in the long term. As a result, the increase of courses at universities gives the chnace to student to aquire new skills and deveople them,
Taking everything into account, i strongly believe that the increase in the number of students and university courses has a profound impact on their future career in a positive way. Nevertheless, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you consider the growth in higher education and course choice positive, and you give two relevant reasons—better career prospects and opportunities to develop skills. However, these ideas remain limited and are not fully supported. For example, the claim that university “opens many doors” is followed by unclear explanation rather than a specific example, while the point about choosing courses is repeated without showing how this benefits students or society. The conclusion restates your view but does not add a developed summary. The response is also 7 words below the required 250-word minimum; the 9 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each reason with a clear explanation and a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. “First,” “Second,” “For instance,” and “As a result” help signal the intended sequence of points. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from awareness of education to career prospects and then to “high capacity” without clearly connecting these ideas. Some linking is mechanical, and the final sentence of the second body paragraph is unfinished, which disrupts the flow. The conclusion is separated by excessive blank space, and “Nevertheless” introduces a contrast even though no drawbacks have been discussed. Make each paragraph follow one clear line of reasoning and use transitions only when their relationship is accurate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “career prospects,” “university courses,” “productivity,” and “creativity,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “plays a crucial role.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to read, for example “aquire,” “diifferent,” “opprtunities,” and “chnace.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “aware about the importance,” “specific domain,” and “high education.” Repetition of “students,” “increase,” and “skills” further limits flexibility. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; using a smaller set of well-controlled topic phrases would make your argument clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a relative clause beginning “who have different options.” However, complex sentences are often faulty or difficult to follow. In “Studying at university plays a crucial role …, this is mainly because,” two independent clauses are joined with a comma; use a full stop or a suitable conjunction. There are also errors in articles, agreement and sentence construction, as in “choose an effective field such as medicine or economic” and “gives the chance to student.” The final body sentence is incomplete, and the conclusion begins with lowercase “i.” Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine ideas with accurate punctuation and clause structures.
