Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You identify the topic and begin to signal a positive view, mentioning higher education and skills. However, the response does not develop this position or explain how the increased number of courses affects people or society; the negative side is promised but not discussed. The task asks you to decide whether this is a positive or negative development and support your view with relevant reasons and examples, so the response addresses it only minimally. It is also substantially below the required 250 words: the response contains 64 words, with 10 copied prompt words excluded. To improve, state your position clearly, develop at least two relevant reasons, support them with examples, and write a complete conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces the subject, and “Firstly” signals the start of a supporting point. The phrase “I will discuss both view” also indicates an intended structure, but the promised discussion does not follow, so progression is not established. The response ends after one incomplete supporting idea and has no developed paragraphs or conclusion. Linking is therefore limited and the reader cannot follow a complete argument. Plan a clear sequence—introduction with your position, separate paragraphs for reasons and examples, and a conclusion—and use connectors only where they show the actual relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a small set of relevant topic words, including “education,” “courses,” “universities,” “colleges,” and “higher education,” so the general subject is understandable. However, the vocabulary range is very limited, and several spelling errors make the writing less clear, such as “Noways,” “indiuial,” “countinuing,” and “disscuss.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, including “fast furious world” and “doing any skill.” Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing access, qualifications, employment, and course choice. Check spelling carefully and choose natural collocations, for example, “develop practical skills” rather than “doing any skill.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both a longer opening sentence and a simpler supporting sentence, but the range of structures is narrow and control is inconsistent. For example, “everyone have to do study higher education” has problems with subject–verb agreement and the verb pattern after “have to”; “I will discuss both view” also has an incorrect plural form. The opening sentence contains several ideas joined together, but its punctuation and sentence boundaries are not controlled consistently. These errors make parts of the response awkward to read, although the general meaning can still be inferred. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles, plurals, and punctuation.
