The pie charts below show responses by teachers of foreign languages in Britain to a survey concerning why their students are learning a foreign language. The first chart shows the main reason for learning a foreign language. The second chart shows how many teachers felt that there has been a recent change in the reason.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

The pie charts illustrates responses by teachers of foreign languages in Britain to a survey concerning why their students are learning a foreign language. The first chart depicts the main reason for learning a foreign language. The second chart shows how many teachers felt that there has been a recent change in the reason. The data is calibrated in percentages.

Overall, in the first pie chart, travel had a considerable percentage for most common reason for learning, while foreign partner reason had an insignificant percentage. In the second pie chart, buying property overseas was main reason for increasing in people learning, whereas the smallest percentage was observed by travel.

To begin with, In the first pie chart, a dominant reason for learning was experienced by travel and it was around 33%. The second most highest was business/work and it was above a quarter. Buying property overseas had 19%. Moreover, personal development and social contacts had the same percentage (7%). Having said that the remaining two reasons were a negligible percentage.

Turning to second pie chart, buying property and overseas had the largest proportion (34%). The second greatest was business/work to 19%. In addition, social contracts had 15%. Conversely, the remaining categories for increasing in people learning were the smallest percentage.
